A friend of mine tipped me off to Urban Dead and I'm enjoying it. He mentioned this alliance and I've also noticed a bunch of you hanging around Mockridge Heights. I would like to join.
Anyway, can you generally expect to get poked if you stop over in any random graveyard for a day? Or do people only really check the ones that are explicitly marked as rez locations?
Depends on the Dr, I try to check the revive point daily outside Anne General Hospital in Mockridge Heights, depending on my built up AP. If it's in a heavily survivor area or next to an active church you may be able to get a revive just by camping out at the graveyard, but some newer survivors may still shoot at you anyhow.
http://redrum.soul-fantasy.net/map.php - This map can help you get to us quicker if you haven't found it on your own. It's very helpful for freerunners as well and can help you get an easy route from point A to point B. I know the map around me pretty well here in Mockridge, but its impossible to remember every building name. That map helps out a lot.

Thanks and hope to start killing some zeds with ya'll. I just got my first shotgun today and it's loaded!

Be sure to add "We Are Nice Guys" in your profile under group name, helps us identify our buddehz.
Also add myself: http://urbandead.com/profile.cgi?id=1490786 - Dr Marius Devalia, and any other WANGers you find, that way you can see us even when we ourselves are deadified. Well without having to take a blood sample that is.
I played survivor at first, then zombie for a while, and I've found that PKing is the only interesting and vaguely tough part of the game anymore once you get to high level.
And how exactly is hopping into an EHB building while people aren't logged in, killing someone, making some dumbass remark, and hopping away "tough" or challenging or even interesting? How is that ANY DIFFERENT than survivors sitting in EHB buildings and popping out to kill stray zombies now and then?
*Cocks shotgun* I find the fact that the jackass who has been hit and running us is actually a fellow Penny Arcader rather distasteful.
Oh please
this forum is covered in internet dickheads, at least this guy has the guts to step up and let us know he is a forumer.
Yeah, I have that map. I'm about a burb and half east of mockridge right now, but I had the misfortune of getting zedified yesterday when I picked a building to stop at that turned out to be full of zombies. I'm pretty close to a cemetary now, so I guess I'll just make for it and stay at least until my AP is all the way back.

Much more likely to get rev'ed at a cemetery than wandering randomly, but also check out the wiki pages for each suburb, and see what specific rev points they have established.

Oh god, not you!
1) I don't know this guy, he's a filthy zed sympathizer spy PK'er puppy kicker.
2) You can just add "We Are Nice Guys" as your group, we're an autonomous collective, we don't have a leader, we don't even have an anarco-sydicalist commune, nor take turns to be a sort of executive officer for the week, nor bi-weekly meetings to ratify executive decisions. Mainly a herd of ADD cats, but no Furries.
3) No need to sign your posts.
4) Sincerely,
5) See, none of that.
As to PKing:
I play this game and Eve online, where PvP combat is allowed, constant, not punished by game or the designers, and I am no good at it.
I don't like getting killed, and I don't PK others (PvP is a different matter). The chance of PKing factors into my gameplay and planning. I tolerate it as part of the setting in an Apocalyptic Zombie Nightmare, part of a near-anarchistic free-market space pirate game, and I'd likely accept it in a Fallout MMO (except Thursdays, that's Ladies' Bible Study Night, Ladies with a Holy Book get drinks half off).
In a Real Apocalypse* I'd suspect it would happen from time to time, because even without zombies we aren't all on the same team, and I don't think that a few undead or nukes would radically make everyone into peaceful, altruistic lovers of all God's Children (cue harps, chirping birds, and rainbows)**
I'll team up with others who don't PK me for protection, track PKers, and not immediately trust suspicious people who wander in from the streets/starless space/the wasteland.
But in more rigid games like TF, L4D, CS, etc, it's most definately not part of the setting even if FF is on, and I enjoy a noTK game with FF.
tl;dr, I don't mind getting PKed occasionally in a game setting where that's plausible to happen.
* May not be 100% Apocalypse, check your local prophecies, do not emerge from bunker until the Not Apocalypse Alarm has sounded

Thanks much to those of you who helped in Nichols. It seems unlikely we will be able to draw the numbers needed to hold the mall long enough for many locals to return though so we are moving on. Be well, We Are Nice Guys!
We should get rid of that furry before it bites us and infects us. Furries are distant cousins of zombies, the problem is that once infected the only cure is death.

I left Nichols yesterday after watching 6 or 7 Zombies kill each other at a revive point.

Sooo, Anne General is open, theres at least one cockmonger inside and 2 other Zeds. If you're in there, you probably should get out of there. Ran out of AP searching for ammo today not knowing the hospital was in trouble.
I ran in, closed the door, and shot a couple of times at one of the zeds. Then I ran out of AP Still 3 zeds, but at least one of them is at half health now. Go to work gentlemen!
what's the difference between quarantine 2019 and urban dead, anyway?

Well Quarantine is just more of a clusterfuck, without a group its basically "hope you get revived between spending all your points getting back up, and when you do get revived remember you lose some of your experience and skill points, wheee" forever. Just gets boring after awhile.
I've got to say I'm having more fun with Quarantine so far. It's just so much faster and the website doesn't feel like it's from 1999. I like the feeling of actually playing towards a goal rather then just waiting in a building to die.
Still having fun with UD, but I haven't really managed to do anything except smack a few zombies and run away to spend another day waiting for AP. My problem is I'm to impatient to wait the full day and run out with just 20 or so AP and have to run back before getting anything useful done.
I've only played either of them for 2 or 3 days though, so this is all just first impressions.
infections should really get wiped out when you get rezzed. It makes things rather a pain since I'm new and don't have a medpac and all the hospitals are barricaded.
maybe I'll give quarantine a shot

Hey, you're in a 80-strong group with a forum. Shack up anywhere and ask for help!
The first journey is. Personally, I'd recommend using the redrum map with the udbrainmap greasemonkey script. It may not be up to date and accurate, but it gives you a fighting chance of planning ahead and finding a VSB building to go to, particularly one that's a hospital.
Mostly the same as that suburb danger map in the UD wiki. Pink means hospital, blue means PD, red means fire station, white means mall/large structure, red text means NT. Mostly the colours just make it easier to identify building types, which are written there anyway.
None of them have anything to do with barricade status though - that's what udbrainmap is for.
Club record was broken in to, Setegerwas killed before my eyes, but I had to throw his corpse outside lest he rise again. The zombie simply shambled back out the door afterwards, and I have the barricades back up to EHB (plus nothing).
Dyscord, where are you right now? I'm on my way back to Mockridge after wandering around for a bit. If I run into you along the way I can res/heal you.
So I gave Q2019 a go and it seems okay I guess. If we wanted a PA group we'd have to all be zombies due to the atrocious survivor/zombie disparity in the game right now. I don't know why everyone is saying its so crappy.

Try to get a revive without posting something somewhere and get back to me on that.
edit: gunned down 2 zeds near the museum, only a few around in the immediate area, will be building up AP and doing another ammo run tomorrow. If anyone needs reviving let me know, I'm still sitting on pins and needles :winky:

I've never had to wait more than half a day for a revive in UD, in a group or not, in the various times I've been playing this game over the years.
There's a zombie in Club Records with about 20 hp left. Unfortunately, I ran out of ammo before I could finish it off. I was able to get the barricade most of the way back up, though.

The UD wiki has lots of unofficial "policies" that many people may or may not follow:
