Did you bang your leg or knee at any point recently? I had the same sort of deal with my pinky and it turned out I had a pinched nerve in my elbow. It took a while, but it got better.
I got nerve damage to my thumb and had the same thing. Nothing you can do, but peripheral nerves usually heal just fine (albeit very slowly). Might take a few months but it should come back.
The first thing I would check is your shoe or socks to an extent, sometimes new shoes have a habit of pinching blood flow which maybe causing the numbness.
Do you always sit a certain way? Perhaps cross legged with the left foot on top of the right all the time? Persistent posture can cause in some cases continued numbness.
If non of the above seems to be the logical answer and this numbness continues, I would definitely go see a doctor in case it's something serious like a pinched nerve or some kind of diabetes onset.
I did bang my knee pretty hard last week and I also got new boot that I have not broken in yet and that are a size too small so I will see what happens when I switch to my old boots.

Actually, this interests me greatly - I've had two fingertips that have been almost completely numb for two months now... I have been under a hand specialist's care for a minor case of carpal tunnel syndrome since shortly after the fingers went numb. All my other symptoms have subsided except for these two dang fingers. How many months worth of healing are we talking about if its nerve damage???
I've had a partially numb big toe since September. Motherfucker.

I got an extremely bad blister on the bottom of my right big toe in 2005. After it healed..the toe was numb (it's never spread, it's not the beetus, it's just numb.)
I was thankful for nerve damage when I dropped a treadmill on it a month ago. It healed fine. It's surreal looking down and going "Gosh. I bet that would hurrrt."
