So after the latest World of Warcraft patch, my FPS was dropping to crap. After trying various other things, I decided to try updating my drivers.
I got this card (Gigabyte GeForce 9800 GTX+, 1gig of RAM) back in November or so and it's ran flawlessly. However when I update to the latest drivers (182.50), they don't install right. All the progress bars go fine, and it tells me to restart. Except after it goes through the XP loading screen, nothing else happens. The monitor stays on so it's still receiving a signal, but nothing happens. If I restart again and Load Windows with the last good config, it reverts to my old drivers.

Am I doomed to use the old drivers?
Same exact thing happened with me and my 7950Gx2 Nvidia Card with Vista.
I loaded all the new drivers, restarted, signed onto my account and bam, screen goes black, I can see my cursor, but nothing else happens. I even let it sit there for about 3 hours.
My solution was rolling the driver back. At least it works somewhat right now.
Go Nvidia!

Make sure you guys are uninstalling your current drivers first, and then installing the new ones. Other than that, I'd take a quick look at the nvidia forums to see if this is a known issue with the new release.
