Word is there will be a 2 week warning. Given that this is Blizzard you have to figure it will be at least a couple of months from the initial tease (May 1).

Spirit and Insight are easily obtainable by a new player. Enigma is something he will not be seeing. Insight also has more uses, and there are better high-end items than Enigma he'll be missing.
Ha, I didn't even check if he was right. I'd be more upset about losing stuff like Faith/Fortitude/Phoenix/Grief, if we're talking high end stuff. Hell, on a personal level, I can think of more characters I'd use an Obedience on with my merc than Enigma on the character.
Awesome runeword, but so very overrated. Or rather, blindly accepted as the best for every build, which isn't the case. With the mods on it, overrated might not be quite the right word.
Chains of honor and Stone are pretty good runewords to, sometimes not often but sometimes preferable to Enigma. Although most players can't pass up the ability to Teleport.
So I still can't play for longer than 1 minute at a time without getting dropped from games. What gives? Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on with me? It keeps dropping me about a minute after I join a game (or create one) saying that my connection has timed out. It doesn't drop me out of battle.net completely though, and I don't think it is my router because I've played WC3 online since this started happening and I didn't have any lag at all, nor was I dropped from any games. I've tried restarting my router and Diablo 2... I'm all out of ideas, what gives?
Quit diablo, look at task manager (assuming windows), and see if there's still a copy of diablo running. I think it may be called game.exe. Kill it, and try again.
This worked, thanks! That said, I'll be on and off all day if anyone wants to level with a 47 Summonancer who just started Nightmare ESCL... Account name is *histronic

I'm ten levels behind you. My account is *themightypuck. If I can get up on a Baal run I might hit nightmare and be able to play with you but right now I'm pretty undergeared for the res hit in NM.

OK, I know I'm really thick about this, but can someone point me to an in-depth explanation of how questing works in this game with battle.net?
I thought I got it, but then I worked on and completed part of a quest yesterday with another guy from here, and later when I went back I had to start from the beginning again.
I like playing online with other people, but as this is my first time through the game I want to see all the content as well. Maybe single player is a better idea for me?
Ow. How'd they get you? You still have purple pots left...
The Occulus has a nice little feature that randomly teleports you 25% of the time you get hit. I was bouncing around like a ping pong ball, and was only able to drink a couple of them. I probably should have alt+f4'd, but was feeling invincible after just taking down hell baal.

If you joined a game another person created and they already had beaten that quest in that difficulty, you can't complete it. You're locked out. If that other person hadn't completed it, it's open to both of you. If you create your own game, all of your unfinished quests are open to you even if another person who beat them earlier joins.
I created a game. Another guy joined me. We did part of a quest together. My quest log was updated when I logged off. I quit playing, and when I came back later I had to start the quest from the beginning.
I'm confused why it didn't save my quest progress.
Upgraded. You can upgrade uniques' base items from Normal to Exceptional or Exceptional to Elite. It increases their base damage by quite a bit, and there are a few weapons/armors/shields that benefit from it.

Some weapons are well worth the upgrade, although it is true that most aren't, you have to look at the stats to see for yourself. For instance, I've played with the normal and upgraded versions of the ribcracker, and I have to say that its reputation as an excellent fury weapon only comes when its upgraded. Left alone, it's not really that great (I wouldn't bother upgrading anything with low stats though). On the other hand, I've used an upgraded cliffkiller when 1.10 first came out, and the results were pretty bad. Damage is a little better, but the runes used to upgrade it could have been better spent on another weapon, or at least upgrading better one.

Doesn't work that way. Unless you mean by yourself on b.net, in which case go nuts.
Just make sure you make your ladder runewords (if you can) before the reset.

Well, considering I have no idea what that means, I probably won't miss whatever benefit that bestows.
Cookies and I tried a new strategy - choke the halls of our enemies with our many corpses.
Our many dead bodies caused all of our foes to fall .... or at least trip.
haha, we failed so bad, why is hell so hard? it should be cookies and kittens!

Edit NVM. Weird I keep getting RD on east even if I haven't played but west is never a problem.

Of course, it was a very short lived victory.

As far as i can tell you'd be better off with the elite unique version of the base weapon though, but it is a good substitute until you get it.
It doesn't change the unique so it's the unique you see in the elite listing of unique weapons/armour it just changes the base weapon.
