If the people on diii's trading forum are to be trusted I'll have everything later today for all that and a raven frost ring. Pretty fucking good deal if you ask me.
All that and an RF? For full Tal Rasha's? It had better be a 2/2/2 orb and with sockets punched in all three parts :P
Yeah, you can get a pul from a raven frost alone or even more depending on the ar and dex. On the other hand Tal Rasha is a really effective and cheap set for mf running. Slap a magefist/spirit and you'll break the 63% fcr (9 fps) breakpoint.
Well, I want the set, I don't want to wait forever, and I don't see me trading for anything else anytime soon, besides maybe a shitty torch just for the stats.

Most of my points are in skeletons and mastery, with just enough in curses to get decrepify or whatever its called. Diablo just one shots everyone, including my merc. We both have pretty decent gear I think, but I just can't get him dead.
Any advice? Or someone who wants to come kill him for me?
Tons of places to trade. You can go into trade channels on bnet or try a site like diii.net. Just be careful. Most people are cool but there are plenty of scammers out there to be wary of.

Damn, I must have missed you. And now I'm at work. Diablo remains alive.
Can anyone think of any advice on how to beat him myself? Is my level too low or something? I am just very dependant on minions, and after he wipes em all, takes me a while to get em all up and try again. I could chip at his health a bit, but it was pretty silly.
Ok, for all that crap that I listed I ended up with.
1x set of Tal Rasha's+1 extra Mask
1x Gheed's Charm
1x Duriel's Shell
Pretty good. Improved the leech on my merc, have the full set+a spirit monarch. Over 1k life, near max resists in hell, and only around eighty percent less MF then I had with my original MFing gear.

Yeah bosses are pretty tough for the beginning necromancer. At the other end of the game though, life is much, much easier (so long as you use decrepify, as I learned).
I can't really offer any advice, it is just hard and not worth your time as your minions die so fast but are hard to get back by finding & making more corpses. I suggest hopping on a Chaos run with others, they'll likely steamroll Diablo and you'll get the quest over with. Or just ask in general chat, people are often too happy to help with easy stuff like normal difficulty.

I was on b.net as I posted that four minutes after you did. Waited for a half hour but you didn't show.
WELL. Some nice MOTHERFUCKING LEGEND just gave me the following, on account of he's quitting:
- Necro torch
- Bramble dusk shroud
- Eth Fort archon plate
- Marrowwalks
- Magefists
- IK helm
- Atma's scarab
- String of ears
- Tiamat's rebuke shield
- Chance guards
- Trangs gloves
- Guillame's face
- Wormskull
- Insight
- Bunch of life and poison large charms
And then his account name and password, which I haven't looked at yet but he said it's got a bunch of high level characters with no gear.
I'm summoner and a bit of this is poison necro gear but, oh well. Maybe I'll remake my old one from way back.
So uh... who's on USWest SCL and needs a few bits?
Hahahahahaha
Unlikely, but careful with that- it could be a scam to get you to xfer stuff over to his characters, then he'll go back and steal it. He does sound like just a nice guy, though.

Were you using a Clay Golem? That, plus decrep should slow Diablo to a crawl. Points in Summon Resists also help too. Diablo's really the first boss that if you didn't slightly plan for (point in Clay Golem, decrep, SR, resists for yourself), he's going to bend you over backwards with his lightning hose.
I finally only need Tal's armor to complete the set. I have a pul and io so far. I'm trying to get two puls to trade for an um so that I can trade that for tal's arm.
To be honest, at this point I kind of want to kill him myself and not let some high level kill him for me, but it just seems impossible.
I do pretty much everything the people above suggested. I have a clay golem, and with decrep, sure, Diablo is really slow. He still one shots the golem, which is also fine, I just keep recasting it. Problem is, everyone else is dead at this point because of the fiery circle thingy and there's no one to hit him.
Is my level too low? I am now 28, so I don't have revives (which I was planning not to take anyway). Should I just farm some more levels?

Put a point in Summon Resist, perhaps.

With the gumby slowing him down, you may want to experiment with using amp instead of decrep? But, yeah, you probably need to grind some more levels.
I made it to level 28 in the attempts, but in the end my merc did most of the damage. I have no idea why that specific time he lasted longer than usual, but he did. All the skeletons were instantly killed, and it was mostly the clay golem and the merc for a while.
I wanted to ask, I gave my merc an etheral weapon, and it doesn't seem like its durability is going down. Is that supposed to happen? If it does, seems like a good idea to give em etheral weapons, no?
In any case, wanted to thank all of you for the advice and the help.
My HC skellymancer is just starting NM now, things have been going pretty smooth. A close call or two with stupid gloams in Act V, but other than that, no speedbumps yet.
NM mode has pretty much owned my resists, as i'm still using store-bought gear (except for a Wormskull helm I found along the way).
If any of you HC East Ladder folks come across skellymancer gear, i'd still love to put it to good use.
Find me as: *zhen_rogue
Along the same lines, here's some of the stuff i've found if anyone needs it on HC East Ladder:
Set Items:
Tancred's Crowbill (military pick)
Sigon's Gage (gaunts)
Sigon's Guard (shield)
Naj's Circlet (helm)
Isenhart's Case (bp)
Isenhart's Horns (helm)
Isenhart's Parry (shield)
Cathan's Seal (ring) x2
Vidala's Barb (bow)
Hwainn's Splendor (helm)
Hwainn's Blessing (belt)
I also have every Normal waypoint, and can help any new Normal toons with quests/bosses as needed.

I seriously need more lightning resist for my summoner. Right now I think it's at -20 or something, in hell. I will walk off the waypoint in the worldstone keep and a few gloams will one-shot me.
Still, I can do chaos runs solo at least. It's utter madness, with 11 skeletons, the golem, the merc, and 8 revives, against legions of monsters.
If your shield is crap you could get either a Spirit (which has decent resists) or if you are even cheaper you could get a 3 socket shield with three perfect diamonds. Cheap easy resists.
What is a good and fun assassin build? (I started a kicker, but I am only level 6 and sick of the sound effect already) They are my favorite class, but I've never made one that was hell-viable. I tend to gravitate toward the Tiger Strike + Dragon Tail build, which of course is worthless in Hell. But it's so awesome vaporizing groups of monsters with single kicks up to that point...
I'm also curious as to how to get mileage out of dual claws. It seems a bunch of the charge-up moves don't even use the second claw (or are really slow) so it's like... may as well just put some pdiamonds in a shield and die a lot less.
Edit: okay, I played my kicksin some more, I will admit that this build is pretty sweet. Just need some damn mana leech.
Okay me and my buddy are trying to clear Ubertrist for hours, but to no avail. Meph is just destroying us with its Conviction, Blizzard and Bone Mage minions. He tried Hammerdin, but he can't survive without Leech. He tried Smiter, but he can't survive the barrage of his minions either. Any pointers? Also, sometimes I can't cast Meteor at all, like the game doesn't let me. What is up with that?

I have about seven alts with socket quests complete though, so I'm not worried.
I will have nothing good to fill them with though! :P
with non ladder trading pul is relatively worthless, while tal's orb and chest are around 1-1.5 hr and the amulet 2+ hr
of course by that time I'll probably be done with D2 and almost certainly with trading.
Still have two more trades for the rest of the stuff.

What was funny is I found the orb on a solo run in the very first monster outside of act 1 in hell. LUCK
