So I just installed WoW and patched it up and now the game will not run, I am the blizzard repair tool and it said I may not have permission to write to the file path. What do I have to do to fix this? I am on an administrator account and from what I can tell I do have those permissions.

What folder did you install it into?

I remember it warning me that I should put it in /users/public/games/ to prevent permissions errors.

Been running it on Windows 7 just fine for a while now, 64-bit version.

I installed it right into the c drive, should I move it all to that one?

Thanks I got it to work.

Ehh now I am stuck at the patch screen with the patch notes with a message at the bottom flashing that reads "Waiting for files to close.."

open your task manager and make sure the wow process is closed properly, I used to have a problem where I'd have to manually kill it everytime.

I don't mean to highjack the thread, but my power supply fan seems to kick it up into over drive when I leave my computer on for more than a few hours now that I've installed windows 7...
is there some heat or power management that I'm not paying attention too here?

Interesting. We backed up the WoW folder from my wife's old computer (XP), and just copied it to her new one (running Windows 7), and it worked fine. Maybe that is just for installing?
