I finally got 3,4 and 5 in the mail from Amazon so I'm re-reading 1 and 2 before reading them.

I forgot how simple and excellent they are.

my favourite part is the occasional headlines. Ramona agrees to go out with scott, and the next page says:

    "SO YEAH"

    I love it.

I think so. I also think it's the first time we've seen them all associating with each other too.

I don't think they do that anymore after the first book.

So... what is the appeal of this series? I mean, I read the OP and checked out some of the stuff on Wiki and it seems very popular on these boards, but something's just not clicking with me on why.
Maybe it's an age thing, you damn kids.

have you read them? They are well written. It's natural and sounds believeable. The dialog itself, not what's happening in the dialog, mind you.

That's fine and all, but the series sounds more like serialized romance mangas, just made in North America instead, none of which sounds that appealing. /shrug

The entire series actually feels a lot like the scene from High Fidelity in your sig.

It's like, the draw of High Fidelity is that you're seeing it through the perspective of Rob, who is kind of an insecure asshole, yeah? And you get to see how he fucks up real bad, but how he grows a little while doing it. Scott Pilgrim is kind of the same. You're following Scott, who is a massively insecure guy who is also an asshole, and the story's about how he tries to grow up.

Also both stories are about music.

Having just read 1-3 its kind of a quirky little adventure series that dosent take itself too seriously and makes a lot of video game refrences/jokes.

I dont think scott pilgram can even really quallify as one genre.

    Also High Fidelity rocked.

I really didn't like him for a while in Book One

I wore chuck ts in high school because I could not afford a better shoe. I find it funny people now will pay large amounts of money for them as they are now tres chic

I am disappointed they got rid of Kim Pine for the movie

You mean Lisa Miller? I liked her too. Also, she's named after Lisa Miller, of WNYX fame. She got me all hot and bothered and she was a cartoon! Also, she factored into a story thread they probably will ignore in the movie.

Also, I wish I could wear All Stars/Chucks/Converse, but I have wide feet. I wear New Balance.
