You could break the first panel into two panels...and then just omit the 5th panel completely?

Thinking about that, I like the way that would look too- with the guy blowing the wistle and then immediately the wolf breaks through. No elevation change, just your eye immediately seeing the consequent.

Or maybe leave the 5th panel in, but leave out any text. Just the two of them standing there...with the black guy looking annoyed.

That could work, but it might make the punchline confusing since it doesn't seem as connected to the duck-call.
