    after reading this comic, i thought of him testing to see if the key was actual gold by biting it, then not being able to use it as a key anymore

    the joke was definitely in panel 2.

    the last panel fell flat on me. part of me was hoping they would be all in front of the door, like a cliffhanger panel to make people really want to read the next one to see the adventure that awaits inside.

    that same part of me wanted the next comic to be totally unrelated and the trip to el dorado never mentioned again.

    what is everyone seeing for the third panel?

    i changed "but just as they gave up a plumber walked by" to "but just then a plumber arrived in a rush"

    but my computer won't let me see the new version for some reason :/

    well yeah

    but if they took them to use the gold then they wouldn't have any more walls.

    It basically works as long as you assume all the characters are idiots (except the plumber).
