So yeah.

Who just saw

?

THIS GUY. Right here.

Seriously guys this movie kicks gigantic amounts of ass. This is a great fucking movie. The entire cast is spot on. Spock is amazing, Pegg as Scottie is a delight. Kirk and Bones are remarkable. I can find nothing wrong with this movie.

Everything about this movie kicks ass. And not in a "so campy and fun" way. The fan service ADDS TO THE PLOT. the plot is GOOD. the acting is FUCKING AWESOME.

With the collaborative nature of any project, assigning blame to any group really is a fallacy.

My lyricist and I, on our most recent project, changed some things to make things more friendly to the public. Some was artistically driven(our director suggested them), some were publicly driven(our producer suggested them).

Everyone had their point, but we as the "Creative minds" were more than happy to follow them. Why? We got a reading. We still love the project and will support it. We still also want to work on our really experimental stuff.

Saying "X wrote X" is only applicable when the writer has room to work. The collaboration, the machine, makes things. Movies, TV, Theater, whatever, it's the same. The system makes things. Don't blame any one person for things unless one person consistently in varied systems produces the same thing.

Look, if you don't take your name off the project that has 0 decent dialogue and a plot containing 50% more bloated pointless crap than the store brand, you are a shitty writer and I don't like you.
Blame Anthony Anderson all you want, you still wrote the words coming out of his mouth.

I did not bother to see transformers.

I saw this, the theater gave the movie a rousing ovation. Everyone in my group agreed that this movie was fuck awesome and pretty spot on 100%.

There is fan service, fuck the whole idea of the movie is fan service. But it is not "Indy has a son an d here is the ark." fan service. it is tied into the story nicely, it makes sense and does not call attention to itself.

    for example:
We cut to a scene in a darkened bad room, Kirk is on top of a shapely woman in bed, she says: "I think I love you" Kirk chuckles, naturally the lady is offended and the lights come on - BAM surprise the girl is green. Kirk and Sulu go on a mission together after Sulu volunteers that he is trained in hand-to-hand combat. Kirk asks Sulu "what type of combat?" Sulu replies: "fencing."

The best part about the movie is that the characters know their roles. It would have been very easy to try and shoe horn more of the supporting characters into the spotlight because "the fans want more Scottie" but they don't but they still give every character an opportunity to shine without it derailing the entire script.

The movie is very well written and the acting is EXTREMELY good.

It's good to hear the movie getting glowing reviews from fans so far. I feared some would (and probably still do) have a knee-jerk negative reaction to all new actors portraying their favorite actors and relatively young ones at that.
