Hey guys, who likes to laugh?

will be putting on a show at my school today. I think I've only actually watched one of his stand up specials on the television. So this should be super awesome and hilarious or terrible. One or the other.
What comedy shows have you been to, ladies and gentlemen? Where they super awesome or terrible?
I've seen Daniel Tosh perform, and I nearly wet myself it was so good. College shows are great because the comedians know they can get away with their courser and more obscure jokes because you spend all your time online visiting naughty websites and surfing wikipedia. So it's good times, and I would definitely say you should check him out.
Saw Patton Oswalt at Blizzcon this year, too. He was pretty good, but his closer was the weakest part. kinda disappointing after he got off to a good start.
And Stephen Lynch is fucking amazing, I try to see him anytime he's in the state.

I've seen Eddie Izzard, which was pretty great.
Other than that, though, my live comedy experiences are all open mic night related, and... I don't mean that as a compliment.

I saw Heny Rollins about two years ago. He put on about a four hour long show. It was amazing.
Also, Posehn is a pretty cool guy and is quite alright.

I saw Eddie in Chicago last year like a week after I saw Kids in the Hall's first reunion show.
Both were indeed fun times.
Oh, man! I wanted to see Kids in the Hall so badly. I think I ended up spending all of my dollars on a Lolla pass instead. On a scale of 1 to Holy Shit, how awesome was it?

Apparently I'm seeing him when he comes back out to Sydney.
He's well worth seeing as many times as possible. I've still got 3 or 4 shows still left to watch on the Randomist DVD and so far the only repetition is of one or two set-piece jokes that he likes to get out, like the "chasing" joke on Sonic Waffle.

The one about the fucking space hairdresser and the cowboy. He's got a tinfoil pal and a pedal bin

it was pretty awesome. Scott Thompson forgot some lines and then they wouldn't let go for the rest of the show.
Since they're still back together, I hope they do another tour now that they've shaken the dust off.

Zach Galifianakis came to a campus show here in South Carolina three years ago and it was so bad he said he wasn't coming back. I didn't know who he was back then.

The last comedian I saw live was Dane Cook sadly. It was in Orlando and $80 a ticket but a large group of friends wanted to go so I went. He did the same shit he always does and at the end he rips his shirt off clearly sucking in his stomach. It was awful.
I have seen Lewis Black, Mitch Hedburg, and Steven Wright in the past though.

no intent to rain on Brak's parade, but when I saw them live I was underwhelmed
I loved the show, but when I saw them live it was basically just them doing mostly the same sketches and it just didn't flow right on stage
perhaps they've changed things around since then

Well, since I missed them anyway, I'd feel better pretending that they suck live. I'm still sad I missed it, but I'll mask it with a demeanor of superiority.
I'd like to see Dylan Moran live sometime, I think.

did you see them in 08? cause it might have just been their excitement that sold it for me because it was literally their first show back together.
also, I think most of what they did was new material. I dunno.
Dane Cook is like that buddy you have and when you're all drunk and it's 3am he tells a couple of funny jokes and tells them really loudly and you all laugh. So then he just starts repeating the same jokes over and over and gets louder and louder and when you don't laugh he just goes online and steals jokes from people who did it better and throws himself around like a child because he is now addicted to the attention.
I'm still oh-so-pissed that I didn't get to see Carlin live before he died. I had hoped to go to his NY appearance last year, but then his heart failed and everything got canceled.
I've seen Pinette live. He is fabulous. I'm surprised he's not more famous.

I know all the cool kids love to hate on Dane, but I actually find him rather amusing.
If you don't like him because he steals jokes, that's a whole different matter. I can fully understand that. But to say he isn't funny is a little strange to me.
He was funny the first time through. I actually thought his first cd was quite funny and the second one was ok. Then it got bad. Then it continued to be bad because he has no replay value.

It's very easy to say it because he's terrible. I suppose if you like mediocre frat boy humor though he's a god.
