Freaking Final Fantasy: Feh?

In 1987, a small time video-game company in Japan made a RPG with a title meant to show they'd probably be closing shop soon after it's release. Instead, gamers in Japan and then the US made the title a joke as they used their money to force that company, Square, to keep making more games with the same name.

22 years later, we're up to the thirteenth game labeled as the Final Fantasy. And we've had good stuff like

But some think the series has had it's share of not-so-great moments as well as unneeded games not connected to the main series that seems to have slowed work on the proper titles, like

    I have the PSP tactics game, I want to get the PSP FFVII side story game.

    I have never played the original FFT. So far, I like the writing.

    I do not like Final Fantasy

    way overrated

    also all the boys look like girls

    now I have no problem with male heroes who are not brutish space marines in tank armor and a gun that screams overcompensation

    but there is a goddamn line and they have crossed it

    I just thought it was an invention of the Advent Children joke sub
