Everyone should have at least one red wall in their home.
Gaze upon ye room, and despair!
2 great tastes, together at last. Red and gold wallpaper!
Red, green, and brown shag carpet!
I'm no photog, so these are only partially indicative of my room. But it's a pretty decent depiction.
oh my god
just wow
that said I think my room when I move out will have a red/white theme to it. one nice bold red wall with some prints/art hanging, the rest a nice sharp white with furniture to match
I like hard floors in living areas but not in bedrooms.
Need that carpet when you get out of bed in the winter
You know, I thought the same thing, until I got timber in my room - it was sort of a necesstity due to my dust allergies. It doesn't really get that cold - nowhere near as much as tiles would. Probably because wood in general isn't a great conductor, the floor is usually a similar temperature year 'round.
edit: though to be fair our winters are pretty lame. Also pipe you don't get to talk about winter at all, you live in Qld.
Man I would seize up if I had to live with carpet like that.
That carpet is a goddamn dust and shit magent, and I'm allergic to dust.
I can feel my tear ducts watering up already.
Goddamn.
I actually have really bad allergies (thanks, mom!) and I had a really big...episode, I guess you could call it, a few weeks back. Dizziness and shortness of breath (I was cleaning my room, so you can tell just how messy/dusty my room is from that anecdote.)
But that's why I have this thing.
It looks like a pet carrier, but it's supposed to be some sort of air purifier.
The dust was mainly from all the wooden surfaces I have in my room (dressers, desks, shelves, nightstands, etc.) as well as the piles (and I mean it when I say piles) of clothes throwing dust around.
Remember, I said I'd rip out the carpet and wallpaper when my family moved in. That was 7 years ago, and we're supposed to be moving this year. The scary thing is, the previous owners lived here before me and thought it was okay.
edit: And prospective owners, when they walk into my room, always say "This room is very big! Gonna have to do something about this carpet, though."
My girlfriend is moving back into my apartment on Wednesday, for keepsies.
I'm of totally mixed feelings regarding this.
if it turns out she is crazy (she isn't) you can make the drive and hang out with me in annapolis. unfortunately my apartment doesn't have the same kind of shag carpet like cooljammer00

Yeah we don't get winter here in queensland
My lady said last night that it was sweater weather.
I really like those expendit book cases like the one Mori bought.
I was going to pinch the dimensions and just build one myself out of pine so it would be more solid, but when I realised how cheap it was I figured it wasn't worth the hassle.
Yes, it's cheap. And honestly it's pretty damn solid. So are the Billy bookcases - we have a couple of shelves containing really heavy books, but they haven't bowed in the middle.
The shelves Expedit series are really too small not to be solid. And it's also very heavy, for particle board.
oh my god you can buy little drawers that fit inside the individual cubes
thats is the greatest thing I have ever seen
if only a red on black colour scheme matched my birch bed and drawers
Yeah! You can see two of the cheap red plastic boxes we bought (although they don't look as red in the photo thanks to the lighting). You have quite a few options - they have some plywood drawers that fit exactly, as do the plastic boxes, and then there's a range of black/red/white drawers and cupboards also designed to fit.
Usually it's not. But when everybody's busy it's pretty vexing to have this whole chore when you know the technology exists to get it done with maybe thirty seconds of input on your part.
Yeah, thinking about it Mori and I don't really often cook in the evening (eat cold/snack foods) so I honestly think it'd take about as long to load and unload a dishwasher than it would to wash the 2-3 plates and forks sometimes. Plus I don't think we even have enough plates to fill a dishwasher, so we'd be wasting a lot of energy.

And now you can be assured I have never had a girl in my room (only partially true, since they've been in here but only cause I was giving them a tour and nothing fun happened) because of, or in spite of, the vomit carpet and walls.
The walls I can sort of vouch for. They're this velvety material and red and gold has some sort of luck giving property, right? And the shag looks more washed out in the photo than in real life. Not that that's an excuse.

why do we keep a cheese grater and toilet paper near eachother

especially when you're gonna be probably charged a fuck-ton when you move the table out and Housing sees how much you've fucked them up
if you shoot cooljammer in his own home, you would get away scot-free, since nobody will be able to tell that he's bleeding

Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
t pipe: 23C is sweater weather for her? Goddamn. It was pretty cool here this morning, probably like 11 or 12. That's a bit closer to sweater weather.

The bachelor pad in all it's glory! Note the case of Mexican coke on the left, the coffee table covered with junk food, and a big TV!
(I have the same one)

Man I just don't understand how even someone with no taste can arrive at such an abominable combination.
And I thought the brown and red carpets and pink walls theme that my parents' house's previous occupants had going on was bad!
I'm coming over

"We ran out of floor boards so we just painted the dirt! Pretty clever."
Only it's got too much electricity so I don't know, you might want to wear a hat.
