I have a couple of framed prints I'd like to be on the walls, but I guess I'm still waiting until we find somewhere we want to live in for a good few years
I've never really stayed in one place long enough to ask the landlord to put nails in the wall
see you take a hammer
and a nail
and you tap on the wall with your finger until you find the stud
and you hammer that little fucker in
....which most landlords have written in your contract that you're not allowed to do
and our landlord will allow it, but he has asked specifically that if we desire anything to be wall mounted, we ask him to put it up
thanks chrishallett, looking at that link now!
Raijin, that dvd collection is huuuuge
I pick up a lot of movies from Blockbuster when they do the buy 3 or 4 for $20 sale.

That is the best way to acquire movies. Or perhaps second best to when Best Buy unloads all their crap movies at $3 or $4 per movie. Good way to pad a collection.
As a teen I used to have the walls plastered with posters, the way most teens do
One of my friends has never moved out of her parents' house and her room is exactly the same as when I first met her, ten years ago, only there's more in it
So the posters have spread to the ceiling, and every inch is plastered in autographed photos and memorabilia

It sucks now since I have the PS3. I don't want to buy anything on DVD but Bluray is still so expensive. I check the Amazon used section now. They have some good deals sometimes.
I have no organizational skills at all except when it comes to my movies. They are kept in alphabetical order and never left out of the case.
Thank you Raijin! I only have like 250 dvds and 50 seasons of TV shows and I spent a day last week alphabetizing them only to have my friends look at me like I'm retarded.

It's especially important when you have 400+ DVDs. I wouldn't even want to think how long it would take to find a specific movie if I didn't keep them organized.

I have run out of places in my room to keep my dvds, so now I've got about 40 of them piled up on my floor.

I had a little attic room and I knew I'd only be staying in this place a year so I didn't bother to unpack half my boxes. I disguised them with throws.
I think I like that style. The only thing I have ever seen is the ones for old movie posters about Alcatraz, or that old Guiness poster with the bird and the man with big noses.
I also have a few posters still in tubes. They were cool when I bought them, and then I just never put them up.
Man, I am just completely falling flat on my face in terms of thread content today. Every thread is making me realize my own flaws.
For me, my room is basically a place I sleep and go on the internet.
don't feel bad, you share this in common with me and thus cannot be wrong in said practice
also i like to bargain shop
my tv cost 25 bucks
my computer is 7 years old and has been frankensteined together with various free bits I have found after parts have failed
I have no posters
things are just generally in places where I can get them with the minimum of fuss
stuff that I need is close at hand, stuff that isn't is put away
Tell me Raneados, do you live by yourself? That is, independently? I get the feeling that if I did, my house might just be a prison cell with boxes of my shit collecting dust.
I have 2 roommates and people staying the night every now and again but I dunno man
I've never been one for decoration
I'm a meat and potatoes dude
easy to please, cheap to shop for etc
Well I meant more like living with your parents, but I guess roommates are sort of similar. I spent a year and a half at a dorm, so I had roommates then. Never really had an issue with them, but of course, real world and school are a bit different.

Dude, I liked Life Aquatic it's alright but you've got to be kidding. Coming to America is a god damn masterpiece.
I don't dig posters anymore. I do have a few I want to frame and put up somewhere, though (the TF2 Turret poster, my two signed Sam & Max posters, etc)
Although, when you have it juuust perfect and then buy that one extra dvd, you're pretty screwed
this is the worst
if it's just one new thing i usually end up setting it on top of everything else in roughly its alphabetical home and then redo everything once i get five or six such floaters
I need to buy a couple terrabyte external drives and rip all my movies to them. It would be so much easier than digging through the piles each time I want to watch something.

Also Metropolis and The Rocketeer. I'm pretty sure the style falls under Art-Deco.
i only have two unframed posters that i still hang. one's an autographed mountain goats poster and the other is a lovely arcade fire poster i got when i first saw them way back when. aside from that, i only roll with framed stuff.

Well, you can be jealous of Janson's skills
I had nothing to do with it

That must have looked cool. I think maps like that might never go out of style.
and
and thank you Usagi! I do try
Also, satans visited me when my room was crazy

living room with awesome cow-skin rug and 3 tvs
Pass-through to the kitchen for all my fancy dinner parties
my "view"
my balcony
my shower curtain
My Godfather picture
I have 3 copies of Domino.
I did not purchase any of them, and to this day I do not know how I got them. But whatever, I do love me some Keira Knightley.

Although, when you have it juuust perfect and then buy that one extra dvd, you're pretty screwed
So I also categorise to some extent first and then leave a little extra room
For example, books are divided by fiction, non-fiction, russian, old books (relegated to the kitchen) and oversized books (for the bigger shelves)
DVDs are divided into films, animated films and TV shows
I dunno man I just never really liked anything up on my walls for any extended period of time
probably the same reason I might never get a tattoo
right now I have a calendar and that's about it
edit and the calendar is a gift
The rest of my apartment is boring. I need some wall art.

I don't anymore
the 56" is in the bedroom
and I haven't used that 42" plasma in at least 3 months, if not 4. It just sits there.
