It's almost impossibe to be an archeologist in Egypt these days. You basically have to be best buds with this guy, and everytime you discover something, he takes all the credit.
Zahi Hawass: Egyptologist and Media Whore
All I know about Dr. Zahi Hawass is that he can tell if a mummy was royalty by smelling it.
I was going to eat that mummy!

So I just watched Requiem for a Dream for the first time.
That's one of those movies that I know is brilliant... I just can't get myself to watch the whole thing. I get depressed in the first 20 min of that thing.

Never watched it, sounds like Candy and that was as depressing as hell. Drug culture movies always make me feel horribly depressed. Except trainspotting, I always felt that Renton would get his shit together.
It was depressing, but as far as immediate "I feel very very sad right now", Green Mile beats it. This movie seems to have had more of a "depression build up", if that makes any sense.

I could really go in deep about Requiem, but to keep it short, I sincerely dislike this film. It has a couple fine points about it, but overall I think the film is disjointed, and erratic. The way its shot turns me off in a big way. I just don't like the film.
Its also a movie that's hard to watch a second time through, whether you like it, or not.

So what the shit, tonight at like 9:00 I get an email from some guy named 'Robert' who forwarded the same email to me and like 7 other classmates. Wants to sign an NDA in downtown vancouver today, apparently he just wanted to remind us that we're 'still on' for it. I have no idea what this crazy fucking cokehead is on, emailing classmates. Apparently, according to one classmate who I phoned, he and his friend have an idea for a sci-fi tv show and they want to do a trailer for it.
Sounds like pro-bono unless he gets picked up by a company, ahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa. :I Classmate said he'll phone me after he gets back, let me know if it sounds like a scam or not. Anyways, was just wondering your guys opinions, if you'd do stuff for free on the off-chance that it might maybe get you work. We talked about this a lot in class, and I don't know how I feel about it and will probably not do un-paid poorly written stupid sci-fi shit that some crazy prick (WHO APPARENTLY TOLD EVERYONE BUT ME TO MEET TOMORROW AT 1:00 :I ) and his buddy came up with when liek ttly stoned.

There's no harm in hearing him out, if nothing else it could be a hilariously stupid event. If his idea is rat shit you're not going to have any problems not dislosing it.
There are very few projects I'd work on pro-bono in the hopes it'd make it, and subsequently me, huge. These are usually projects I'm personally invested in, either because I started it myself or an collaborating on it with a good friend.
That said, if Johnny Classmate wanted me to do a lot of heavy lifting for him and his "sci-fi tv trailer" for free, I'd tell him to go fly a kite.
I'll prolly hear back from classmates tomorrow, theyll tell me if it's worth it or not. Can't hurt to sign NDA, yeah. It means i'll get to hear about his TOTALLY AWESOME IDEA

So I've been taking a ceramics course this semester and I've been enjoying it enough to think about doing some on my free time (over the summer and such). Then I saw how expensive wheel's were.
I won't have that money until I have a decent job and by then, I probably won't have time for ceramics

It's one of life's many conundrums. Thankfully I've killed enough ceramic projects in a kiln to have lost any sort of passion for it. I don't know what I did wrong and I don't care to know. Good Day Sir!

Thankfully I haven't killed anything yet- I don't think I could make that time back up....
I'm pretty sure the secret is keeping the density uniform and letting it all dry out evenly before you even think about putting it in the kiln.

*may or may not be true at all.
This
this is a joke
yes?
I saw Requiem right after Trainspotting
Wasn't it Teriyaki?
Hey, don't go around knockin' square knockers.
Tam - Trainspotting is infinitely better. They might as well be on different levels.

hahahaha, oh man. I'm sorry. I'll help you find the pieces of your broken heart.
I was so disgusted when the baby died. It made me want to take a tire iron to all their faces
and fuck Begbie: what a worthless pile of violent shit
Requiem was really the sad one though- Trainspotting ended with Renton (albeit using stolen drug money) starting anew.
.... not the one I had.
(did I save face?)
Yes.
