Okay, I've discovered something...strange. First of all, holding up on the D-pad with either Jonathan or Charlotte will trigger a unique animation after a certain amount of time. (That's not my discovery: I read about that on the Castlevania Dungeon. But, that site describes Jonathan's incorrectly; it definitely isn't "air guitar," but more of a "no YOU da man.") But, well, doing Jonathan's while in the same room as Vincent, the merchant, will cue an...odd dialogue. But it isn't a dialogue as conveyed as throughout the rest of the game; though much shorter, this discussion is fully voiced. You can also do the same thing, only with Charlotte out alone, for a slightly different exchange. In order to see both, though, you'll have to leave the room and go back in between Vincent's response to each character.
The most disappointing thing about this, though, other than their short length? Contrary to the impressions that the game's trailers made, the acting...really isn't all that bad. Not great, but definitely of a quality I wouldn't have minded hearing throughout the main game itself. Of course, that's assuming the rest of the characters' actors worked at a consistent quality, which I'd doubt.

Yeah, those discussions are awesome and a little insane.
I can't help but enjoy Charlotte's little animation, though. It's so random compared to how she normally acts that it amuses me.

She is arrogant enough that it makes sense.
Probably old news, but you can switch to the Japanese voices as well (there's a lot of Japanese samples for the enemies/etc. and not just the protagonists). Hold down the L button while making a selection on the title screen menu. You'll know if you did it right because you'll hear Johnathan say "Showtime!"

I plan to play through my New Game+ with the Japanese voices.

God bless them for finally getting voices right. Pisses me off to no end when a company will translate all text in a game, but leave the voices alone and unsubtitled, especially when there's a few sentences spoken. Capcom pulls this crap with the Zero series where the bosses sometimes belt out a quick sentence before or after the fight, and it might as well be gibberish for all I care. I'd rather they go the full mile and dub any and all speech, no matter how insignificant (unless the only voice work is just grunts or generic engrish, like say Zelda), or subtitle everything.
I don't care if the only thing that's said is "Let's go". Dub it, or subtitle it. I don't speak moon language.

This is one of those games, like SotN, where I want to constantly go back to my original file just to complete more shit. None of the other portable games gave me much of a feeling like that.
Just unlocked Nest of Evil. Debating about whether I should fight Brauner first or tackle the Nest of Evil.
Heh. You can go to the Nest of Evil and see how well you fare...
Sat down with it for half an hour. I also had the Absolve Greed quest, so I had incentive to go back to the shop and max out on potions for it. I love the reward.
I'm guessing Sisters mode is laughably easy on anything less than Hard mode at a Level 1 cap. I've been playing normal and I didn't even get hit when I fought Death.
So, did anyone else notice that the description of "Greatest Five" says that it "summons...four warriors"? Probably a typo, but I'd like to think it's more like, "Nah, one of those guys isn't so great."

So, fighting [spoiler:574388153f]Richter[/spoiler:574388153f] has been a pain in the ass. Any tips?
Also, I'm assuming that should be spoiler'd for guys who are just getting into the game.
[spoiler:574388153f]Are you doing it immediately after fighting the sisters? If so, you can go through those other paintings, which have a few equipment items placed explicitly to help with that fight, like a dark-themed whip and a mail that diminishes Holy damage.
But, I beat Richter before all that, so some other tips: What I did a lot of the time was get maybe medium-close range from him, jump straight up, and then double-jump over his head once he leaps up to whip you in the air. I had the Royal Sword, so I'd just cleave down on his head on my way down, wait a second or so, and repeat the process. You have to stay mindful of the axe subweapon and "RRRRED CROSS," though.[/spoiler:574388153f]

HAHA, that's what I thought.
I'm finding it difficult distinguishing between Trevor and Simon. They look nearly the same. I'm guessing the last one is Trevor who sometimes uses an old sprite while the one that shows up earlier in the order is Simon.

I'm pretty sure it goes:

[spoiler:6823a9b432]But it is easy enough to do it without all that. Shurikens mess Richter up bad, the speed and optimum distance (in the air and a distance away) puts you far away from all his attacks aside from the daggers but you should be on the ground for only short periods. You also have to make sure not to get backed into a wall but most strats are going to have issues with that.[/spoiler:6823a9b432]

I'd say so.
Agreed, if only for the lack of stylus nonsense. That really hurt DoS, imo.

Not really. Each area has its own percentage that gets added to your total. I think the max is around 900%, but I could be wrong.

I was hoping of making the miser ring more rediculous than that but I understand.
Does making a New Game+ overwrite the original save?

Ancient armor and spiked leggings ended in that bastard getting kicked in the head a few dozen times.
