Curse you ps3 owners, I want to play mvc2 against nobody
...why? That was the worst part of the game, given there's only one ending for... what, 50 characters?
MVC1 was better in that regard.
That was more of a "I want to play the demo right now against an unmanned 2nd player and don't own a ps3". I have zero interest in playing this game single player once the game becomes available with its online extravaganza.

You don't like shit talking to the CPU?
Seriously though, there really is no point in adding 50 ending that i'll never see. Anyway I would imagine at best they would be on par with the SFalpha3 endings which are just terrible and not worth the time they take to watch.
Haha, I've had my fill of talking shit to the CPU with Seth after being hit with his 20th 45 second borefest attack in a row. When I realized I could unlock all characters on one round, easiest, my rage began to subside.

You can't possibly be talking about Stan Bush's masterpiece, "The Touch", can you? Now, if you're talking about "Take you for a ride", I am on your side there.
Now that trailer kinda justifies (not really) stupid conversations over the headset.
"Why throw away your life bar so recklessly?!"
"That's a question you should ask yourself, Magnetron!"
"THREE SHALL STAND, THREE SHALL FALL"
"I totally remember when Optimus shoryuken'd Megatron."
"Yeah, but Megatron got him good with that Berserker Barrage."

anyone who say's they're jealous of ps3 owners for getting a demo... dont be... like everyone said, its a pathetic excuse for one.
I've got a dreamcast and i'll just play MvC2 on it until it actually gets released. only 6 characters and no cpu opponent makes it worthless for me (since i dont live close enough to my friends anymore)
The "y'know who would be awesome in this game?" talk was pretty masturbatory, but since you're supposedly able to play your own music through the game, anyone starting to build their tracklist? I think "The Touch" is probably number 1 for alot of people now.
The Power Rangers theme and "Let's Fighting Love" are pretty much mandatory.

Kind of funny that one would call talking about what characters would be awesome in the game masturbatory then start talking about what music would be awesome in the game.

so its liek those times when you're just starting out then you hear the front door or garage door open and you know you have to stop. . .
I think my custom soundtrack will have a LOT of X-Men: Children of the Atom music, but for Omega Red's theme I think I like the Marvel Superheroes vs. Street Fighter version better:
Also does anyone know if there's "advanced" music options in the demo? The press release for the full game makes it sound like it but I guess they could just be embellishing. From everything I've read it just sounds like you use the XMB (and probably the 360 dashboard once it's out) and play songs that way. That's still cool, but I'd love to have track changes happen at the appropriate time (or designate songs to certain cues like "versus" or "select screen").
There isn't going to be a PC version, is there? I've never played this game before, but it looks awesome and I don't have a PS3 or 360.
Capcom has been pretty good about PC versions of their games recently, so I can always hope.
Well there is still no PC version of HDR so i wouldn't hold your breath. I think the guys doing it only have the rights to do it for the PSN and XBL.
I did read somewhere that they only have the rights for digital distribution, but that wouldn't prevent a PC version at all, unless it really only is the rights for PSN and XBL.

I suck at MVC2 these days. Been practicing and can't do the ROM infinite anymore Ironman's is still silly easy. The good news is that you can map "Dash" to a button now and that will make things a bit easier, that's for sure.
For anyone who is wanting to get some of those combos down, there are a few good video tutorials on youtube. The ones I use are in Spanish, but you don't necessarily need to understand everything he's saying to get the gist of it. I'll add them to the OP as well.
I wasn't quite sure what was happening at a certain part in the Magneto video so I took the text from the frame to babelfish, aaaand...
"spear that the enemy is near the magneto crotches"
I don't know what that means, but it sounds quite painful. I also found a picture of the guy who made this video.

My Spanish is a little rusty, but here is a rough translation of the videos. It's not word for word but rather an effort to get the meaning across properly in English. My comments added in between brackets [].
How to do the ROM?
Video Tutorial
A lot of people have the same problem when performing the ROM. They air dash too slowly into lk. Here is a tip to know whether it's canceled properly or not.
Here it is done incorrectly. When you ground dash cancel into lk, this "Spark" should not appear.
In this case, the spark does not appear. This means we canceled the dash fast enough, which means we're doing well
Let's see various basic set-ups.
Without pause helps to elevate the opponent higher. The advantage of this setup is that you do not run the risk of having the opponent roll away from the Psylock assist. [To roll away after a knockdown, do a reverse fireball motion, as in, forward, down+forward + down + p]
Let's explain the ROM execution, step by step.
First, the easiest. Do a super jump.
Then, Low Kick. Follow with a Medium kick. Do not pause in-between those two.
1st pause: We're waiting for the opponent to fall in the area in between Magneto's legs.
Quickly do an Airdash into low kick. The airdash has to be in the diagonal down direction.
2nd pause: we're waiting to get a little closer to the ground.
Finally, do medium kick. This will keep the opponent in the air. And that's it. This leaves the opponent high enough to repeat the ROM.
Minimal pauses in between low kicks and medium kicks to lift the opponents higher. Longer pauses in between low kicks and medium kicks to keep a lower height. [This is useful because sometimes you will lose a bit of timing and will need to readjust the height of your opponent's helpless carcass].
Now let's see the whole process in action.
Against heavy enemies, there are NO pauses in any part of the ROM. That's how you keep them off the ground long enough to continue the combo.
It looks really complicated, but it's not.
Now let's see a couple of ways to end the ROM.
This is escapable, but don't worry. It'll catch your opponent off guard and they will not have time to mash out of it.
Reset with a Hyper Combo. Let's take a closer look at the execution.
Cancel the first medium kick into a diagonal down air dash. This will get you to pass under your opponent. Don't forget the lk in order to fall faster (doesn't have to be lk specifically). Land and immediately do standing hk xx shock wave. And the rest is history...
To find more tips and information on ROM setups, resets, etc, don't forget to visit forums like shoryuken.com or fighterchile.cl. These forums are full of information and links about Magneto. I hope this video has helped you better your game.

My padherder they don't it be like it is but it do
All right, just tried the demo and I'm loving the improved graphics even more seeing them in person. The demo's not much to work with, but it's something at least.
One thing though, anybody notice slight freezes on the character selection screen when you choose a fighter? That's happened a few times for me and I'm wondering if it's really the demo's fault. If it is, I hope they clear that up for the release.
Another minor gripe, but it still annoys me that you can't return to the main menu from the character select screen...
I wonder if there'll be options to set background music by character or stage
By "supports custom soundtracks" I hope they don't just mean "you can press the guide button and play music from it just like every other Xbox 360 game ever released" because seriously, why even list that as a feature
Might as well list "supports wireless controller" and "has graphics" if you're going to do that

Yeah, she died before House of M I believe and when they brought her back after House of M she was one of the 198 (the mutants who kept their powers, or at least some of them).
I think her original body has died twice, but I'm not clear on that.

Oh man, that would be sublime. It would compliment SFA3 and Darkstalkers: Whatever so nicely.
Actually, my dream for years has been a Vs. compilation because I actually prefer X-Men vs. Street Fighter and the first Marvel vs. Capcom to Marvel vs. Capcom 2. The former only got a good console release on the Saturn in Japan and it would be nice not to have to fire up the Dreamcast for the latter.
Now, of course, XBLA releases are more feasible, although since they started out with MvC2 I doubt we'll be getting any of its predecessors.

See, this right here is why I can never get into traditional comics.

I can't stand the current X-men stuff because it has some of the stupidest drama imaginable. On top of that, characters constantly dying and un-dying makes virtually anything that happens with the X-men have zero impact.
Generally, I enjoy Marvel writing a good bit until the next story after a good arc comes out. Marvel then proceeds to let writers undo practically everything interesting which happened before and then add in some crappy new stuff.
Case in point, World War Hulk. I liked the arc a great deal because it wasn't just "Hulk smash!" Then what happens with the Hulk immediately following World War Hulk? The Hulk is dumb again! Blue Hulk! Red Hulk! More secret military betrayal! Ugh. One step forward, eight steps back.
