Back on some board seven years ago, there was a guy who swore up and down that he knew somebody at Capcom and that Street Fighter vs. Dragonball was right around the corner. So much for that.
Maybe that's how Super Dragonball Z came to be. It was created by the producers of street fighter
and was an amazing game but dbz fans wouldn't play it because they couldn't do quarter circles and street fighter players wouldn't play it because it had dbz characters. Well maybe that's not fair, but either way the game tanked. ):

I...I need to go find this game now!
Definitely worth it, probably my favorite DBZ fighter next to Super Butoden 2 and Supersonic Warriors.
On one hand I can't wait for this. It is one of my favorite fighting games and it will have online play, keeping things fresh for forever. On the other hand, I don't want to face nothing but [strike]Ken[/strike] Magneto, Sentinel, Storm.

Don't worry. I will fight you with Rogue, Gambit and Mega Man.
The same week as blazblue and possibly very close to the KOFXII release, nice...
Really? Cause I just think it's stupid when they do that. If they came out spaced out, I would have probably bought all three. Now though? I'll have to decide which one I want to concentrate on. Probably blazblue or KOF, as I figure those are going to be harder to find later on.

BlazBlue is end of June, KoF is "July" but I don't see it happening until the end of the month.

I believe I used to use Guile, Gambit, and Ryu. I know I definitely used Guile and Gambit.

The most exciting part of this all is the new soundtrack. I can't wait until I get to the character select and lose track of everything because the game isn't taking me for a ride.

Update: Says Capcom's Seth Killian: "That's the first time I've heard that date, and so far as I know, it's not correct." It's Marvel vs. Capcom ... on release dates!

Dammit.
I don't think it will be later than the end of June / beginning of July. KOF is July 7th if you believe SNK and Ignition. I'd said it's possible to see MvC2 at the end of this month / beginning of June.
I wouldn't want to sandwich my release between BB and KOF.

Well, I am ALL for that change but I imagine the MvC2 pros will not be pleased.
I thought I remember reading a while back that they would only be removing game-breaking bugs and would be leaving all the infinites in?

They did. However, they never mentioned they wouldn't tone them down...
All they had to do was tell me they are having the same online as SF2THDR. Well, all they had to do was tell me they were releasing this, but the online stuff helps.
So pros are the ones that can abuse glitches the best now?
In this game it is.
Seriously though, there are so many infinite combos in this game I would hardly call them glitches. At that level of play it seems like everyone can do those combos without any issues so it's more about setting up your opponent to get INTO these combos.
It's like that quote that some dude said: "MvC2 is so broken that it's balanced."
I'm not necessarily trying to defend them, personally I'm glad that infinites are out. I'm just saying that competitive players will probably stick with their Dreamcast versions.

Hrmm... I think I'm gonna pass on this. I'm so tired of the IceMan Sentinal Dr. Doom Magneto nonsence. It angries up the blood.

Um, the dizzying out of combos already happened in MvC2, that's why characters like Magneto, Storm, and Sentinel are so feared. They can reset the combo counter and then continue raping you.

That's interesting, I never noticed the counter being reset in all these videos I've watched. I always thought those three were used so much because they had nifty flying abilities that made them super agile.
Yeah, if you see me playing PA matches and I have Magneto, Storm or Sentinel in my team then its because I'm drunk and hit the wrong characters. I don't really play Iceman or Doom either. I think you're safe.

"Pros" assumes (I guess) that they make money playing the game. They aren't really "pros" in the MLG sense, though. It means that they are respected by their peers in the community, and they are the guys we know the names of. The guy who sits next to you in biology could be a "pro". They play by the same rules we do, which are arcade standard. That way if you and I (hypothetically) were to play a money match, we could just do it on an arcade machine and not have to change any settings. If you go to any arcade that has mahvel, most people use these teams/tactics, or very similar ones. If anything, it serves to make low tier vs top tier matches much more exciting.
Low tier vs low tier marvel is kind of super shitty because it really boils down to short x short x super. It is still fun, though, considering the variety and all that, but even without all the glitches and things the game is hella unbalanced. And things that aren't even glitches, like triangle jumping, are the stuff that really break the game. Storm and Mags effectively own the rest of the cast because of it. So all the super retarded stuff adds a lot to the game.
The best way I can explain it is if Ryu is Krillen, then Storm is a super saiyan.
Because even though it would seem like all the broken ass tactics are unbeatable, there are definite ways to counter them, though those tactics themselves are just as broken. It's like when criminals get good guns, so the cops get better guns, so then the criminals get better guns yet. But guys like Ryu can never really get to that point, kind of like how Krillen really has no use after the Frieza saga.
After a certain point, most games get like this, and you see the same characters getting used over and over and everyone whines about it. But if you were to go to a tournament with top players and try to play with an atypical team, you probably would not win because the game has grown to the point where it is nearly solved, and there are only a handful of viable tactics that work at the highest level of play. But that assumes that both players are really really incredible. And if you drove for 6 hours to play in a tiny stinky arcade, you really do not want to lose in the first round due to "honor" or just trying to be unique. It's a long drive home.

The supposed infinite removal isn't in the PS3 demo. Maybe it'll be part of the game on release? Even so, I'm skeptical.
In the DC version, you can do a 999 combo without any resets and you're fine. The thing is, there is damage scaling. So, while the first hit of the ROM infinite might do a chunk of damage, by the time you're on the 25th, the damage is so reduced that players will usually then go for a surprise reset to erase the damage reduction. So, if there is in fact a 50 hit limit on infinites based off normals, it's not the end of the world. If, however, you get "dizzied" off basic combos, like AHVB x 3, then the game is _drastically_ different. After the comments of the producers trying to make this version the de facto tournament version to replace DC, I don't see this being real.

I'm happy with it but Magneto/Storm/Sentinel teams are still going to dominate the playfield. Ideally I would want character rebalancing but that would be quite a feat for the design team.
