So Im just tooling around in Arcade 'auditioning' for my new team. Rouge is REALLY impressing me.

Love her power drain move. Easy to pull off, hits most of the time.

So Im practicing always hitting things, timing, trying to remember to use my assists when suddenly it happens.

Any place you guys can point me where they explain all the dhc, ohd, dvd acronym stuff? lol I need like a guide to this game, cause I know I can play fighting games, its just this one is sooo... different. In a fun way

DHC is Delayed Hyper Combo, but I haven't heard of OHD or DVD being MvC2 acronyms.

I'm getting better...

My current team has 6 wins in a row and 0 losses. I'm going to shed a single tear when that team gets beaten. Strider, Juggernaut, Cable. Cable hardly even gets used. I put him on AA assist to down flyers.

I called it quits for the night, but add me. I'd love to just mess around, and as you try stuff out and learn the terms, I'll try out fighters Ive never used before. Theres really no real gauge of how well I can use someone until I actually am fighting a real person.

Thanks for the list. I really just need to get a basic comprehension of the fundamentals of this game before I can really get going. I'm sure I'll be fine soon.

And yeah I'd be down to fight any of you, any time. I'm sure I won't too much of a threat. I play this game like I play Blazblue and Street fighter 4, which is my problem. I should think more of my team instead of trying to solo everyone.

When your point man gets knocked out are you guys like done? Or do you guys pull out wins using your other characters? Cause I know alot of high tier assist characters aren't so great solo.

I jumped into an online match and totally schooled a jerk who jumped in with Magneto/Cable/Sentinel. Cammy did most of the handy work, especially on Sentinel. I took him on with BB Hood, Cammy and Blackheart. He knew all the pressure combos with all three but the moment I was able to get behind him and chain some hyper combos, he couldn't do shit. The guy right after him piped up on his mic and was like "Dude I was cheering for you".

Eventually I lost out to a really good Guile/Strider/Akuma player who rarely let me touch the ground.

Magneto/Cable/Sentinel? That's...weird. It's what comes from looking at character tier lists and not looking at team tier lists. If you're going to use 3 of the top 4, you use Magneto/Storm/Sentinel, which is an actual tournament team. Magneto/Cable/Sentinel is goofiness.

And another thing that these people don't realize is picking those characters doesn't make you unstoppable. Picking those characters and having years of experience and practice, perhaps. But these new players who decide to pick them up tend to leave huge holes in their offense and defense. You look at tournament videos and you see the wins, but you don't see how much work they put into their gameplan to get those wins.

Actually, on second thought, maybe I'll try mirror-matching people. Could be more interesting than blind picking teams. And it all but eliminates complaints over which characters you selected.

Oh man, somebody did this to me the other day. It was hilarious. Every time I switched chars he would too. It was confusing as fuck because our colors just happened to be incredibly similar.

Also, I had to quit playing for awhile and do some CoD4 where I'm actually good and can win rounds. I'm 24-31 now after keeping it dead even for so long. I was pissed.

Bait it out, block it, then punish it, usually with your own assist. It'll chew up pretty much any jump-in attack, but loses badly to jump-in block.

Jin's whirlwind assist... I got trapped so bad. It was incredible and now I use it too just to keep the pressure on.

Anyone else having problems with starting a game?? I will be able to play one game then after that it goes to screen where you have to push a to start the game and it won't start the game?

Hasn't happened to me before but what does happen all the time is when I'm searching for quick matches the other player will discon and I'll be stuck at a white screen that says to press A and I have to restart the game.

Also, can you not change chars on the select screen if you pick the wrong one?

wow, just fought a huge cable/megaman whore named PHANTOM REMNANT. If you're on here, you're a gigantic douche. I was only using Cable because you were but all I needed was Psylocke. I took out a nearly full health Cable and nearly killed his full health mega with a half health psy.

Have you ever used your wifi to play any other multiplayer online?

I have decent wifi and I could never last more than a few minutes playing multi online because then I'll get disconnected.

HDR was a little wonky for the first few months too. Lots of random glitches like lifebars disappearing, character portraits/names not changing when different characters are selected, random disconnects, etc. Kind of surprising that there are still connection issues with this netcode, what since it's been out for almost a year now.

I don't think Sirlin had anything to do with this port so I doubt much attention will be brought to it unless a big enough stink is made on the developer forum, if they have one. I'm sure if they care enough to fix the problems, they do, so google around to see if anyone else is complaining, and log your complaints too. Only way things will get better.

The only jerks online are the guys DCing on us. I've gotten the shit kicked out of me by guys using assists and block strings to chip the ever loving hell out of me (Strider/Doom/Ryu. Doom assist Strider lock down followed by Doom jumping fierce / Hadoken assist lock down). But I can respect people who play well enough to lock me down. DCers though? Scum o' the internets.
