Huh? Does that mean this Teabagger thinks they’re Vichys?

Didn't they get the memo? Socialism isn't an effective pejorative anymore. The official Mindless Conservative's Generic Pejorative for Democrats is now "fascist".

It would have been even funnier if it wasn't actually true. PA gets $1.08 for every $1.00 it sends to the government. Of course The South is the true Welfare region, getting $1.18 as a whole, where $1.08 is the 4th cheapest state out of the 14 of 'em. These stats always make me angry.
It's an empty way to deflect criticism. Conservatives like to say "Oh, he's not a real Republican like me" whenever someone on the right gets caught saying something stupid. It also allows them to maintain a schizophrenic base, where instead of acknowledging their cognitive dissonance they can just point to the other groups and say "No, it was them!"

Basically it's how the nuts have learned to reinvent the No True Scotsman argument. Rush does it all the time. If he doesn't want to argue something he just says "Oh well you're a liberal".

"freedom can work in all areas of life"
Have you even looked at your social positions?
Gays have the freedom to remain single, people have the freedom to not have health care, parents have the freedom to send their children to expensive private schools....

Hey, HEY. You're free to be gay.
You just can't have sex. Because that would be a sin without being married. And you can't get married, because it would lessen the meaning of the thing I did.
Now shut up and be all gay in airport bathrooms like the GOP has the common decency to do.

One of my favorite logical fallacies. "No True Scotsman", which is of course, a cornerstone of American Politics, right up there with the Straw Man, the Non Sequitor, and straight up Bullshitting.

Oddly enough, I find straight up BS'ing the most tolerable, at least it leads to the funny haha at times.
STEELE: Look, you can tweak my nose and you can step on my toes and you can pull my hair. At some point enough is going to be enough. ... Sen. Cornyn went out on the line for this man. For the senator to effectively flip the bird back to Sen. Cornyn and the Republican Senate leadership -- a team that has stood by him, who went to the bat for him in 2004 -- to save his hide, to me is not only disrespectful, but it's just downright rude. I'm sure his mama didn't raise him this way, and it's a shame that he's behaving this way today.
BORDER: Did he give you a heads up on this?
STEELE: No, not at all, which is another form of disrespect that I don't count. At least give me a call or give the party leadership a call and let us know this is what I'm thinking, this is where I'm going, so it can be repaired. I'm not one to be caught flat-footed about these things. You get on your toes and you respond as quickly as can you.
So many metaphors and shit that makes him sound like a white guy trying to sound urban.
Also in the CNN interview, Steele said that Obama was "moving towards a collectivist socialist approach to government." In the past, he has avoided using the term "socialist," raising the ire of hard right party members. Is Steele now caving to their pressure?
Welcome to the deep end of the crazy pool, Mr. Steele.
I love that picture. This makes me a horrible person.
I had it as my background for a week.
Anytime somebody can find an excuse to post it, I support them.
Since I do a lot of forum browse at work, I have it set to not display any images, so I don't randomly have a bunch of stuff on my screen that is blatantly not IT stuff.
I knew what image that link contained. I could see it in my minds eye. I clicked it anyway. It is that good.
On the one hand actually having interviewers who question the subject, as opposed to flash vapid smiles, is great. On the other, that didn't really merit getting riled up over. It wasn't so much insane or shocking as a clumsy pivot away from a topic he didn't want to address, the shrinking republican base and the purge of moderates, to an area he did want to talk about, how the republican party is trying to frame their ideology.
An better response would have been "That doesn't answer the question at all. Spin your position how ever you want, how do you respond to the fact your base is continually purging anyone who deviates even slightly from political orthodoxy" or something along those lines.

This "non-threatening minority" theme they have going has provided some seriously brilliant unintentional comedy for some time now. First was Caribou Barbie, then "Robert" Jindal, and now Steele. They've given us the "ideal" Republican woman, an ABCD with some kind of creepy pervert smile disorder, and I'm still not convinced that Steele isn't just C. Thomas Howell in blackface.
I'm hoping this trend keeps up, because next on the list is a Chinese guy with a horrid combover and/or speech impediment named John Wang, the owner of a Tex-Mex restaurant chain in Iowa who's actually just 1/4-Samoan (but his second wife grew up in San Antonio), and Larry Craig.
Zimmydoom, Zimmydoom
Flew away in a balloon
Had sex with polar bears
While sitting in a reclining chair
Now there are Zim-Bear hybrids
Running around and clawing eyelids
Watch out, a Zim-Bear is about to have sex with yooooooou!

We didn't want that seat anyways.
We only want the good seats. The ones from Oklahoma and Texas.
They tried to bury us. They didn't know that we were seeds. 2018 Midterms. Get your shit together.

Parents have the right to force their children to be of a particular religion.
And thats why the republicans plan to bring you the freedom to starve in the streets. Everyone loves freedom
