Is it easier than PJ Eden? I could never get my wife to play that game with me because it was "too hard". (We did get 100% of the rainbows in all the PJ Monster levels though)
I’ll tell you what happens in Demon’s Souls when you die. You come back as a ghost with your health capped at half. And when you keep on dying, the alignment of the world turns black and the enemies get harder. That’s right, when you fail in this game, it gets harder. Why? Because fuck you is why.

Is it easier to get rainbows with 2 players? I bought Monsters a few days ago and I find it them a bit difficult to get. I only have 3 rainbows so far with 1 medium level remaining to complete. And it seems I wont be able to progress to the next set of levels as long as I don't get more rainbows.

Yes, provided you have any sort of teamwork going on. There are no penalties for two people, yet you can be in two places at once or choose to upgrade a specific tower at twice the speed. (The one thing is you don't pool money, so you need to manage that, you do pool gems)

Sweet, I just got the game and played a couple levels. It's really fun. If I had to think of one word to describe it, it would be slick. Your little ship motors around, and once you get used to the dual stick shooting, the controls are pretty easy.
One thing that threw me off is that you have to launch your little grapple to rescue guys, instead of just flying over them. Sometimes I get the shoot and grapple buttons mixed up, with hilarious consequences.
The physics seem really well implemented. Playing around with the little pods that soak up water and spray it everywhere is a lot of fun. Once by accident I shot a wall above me unleashing a huge torrent of lava over my head. I quickly dove down into a tiny pool of water to escape. The lava hardened above me forming a protective shell, I thought I was safe until it started to eat through the shell, making it smaller and smaller until it finally got me. Those last few seconds were gut wrenching though, watching the lava creep closer and imagining my little guy saying a prayer inside.
Nooooo, it's not fair. Eden was really fun, but they really dragged out having to do each level 5 times. This game is a blast to play and goes by fast, and each screen is so different in terms of what you need to do. Worst part is, I'm already eager to get the Encore when they release it.
Also, the music is neat, but... (world 3 spoilers)...

Away from my ps3 for the weekend, can anyone confirm if it is only two players? Or can you have more?

Q Games are getting better and better as they release these games, I'm loving PJ Shooter. I've just spent a good 40 or so minutes playing and replaying through the first 3 stages just trying to collect everything.
So, is it possible in 2 player mode for one player to save the other from crashing? I noticed you can still fire and grab when you're overheated, your engines just don't respond.

2 ways... if one player has the ability to spray water, they can save them. Otherwise, the second player can grapple the flaming wreckage, and dip them in water. Pretty neat mechanic.
This game had about the same effect on me as entering a time warp.
There's just 3 fucking hours that I cannot account for. I could not leave the game, and it felt no where near that long. It's strange how it feels like a game that you can just jump in and out of, yet I felt compelled to play it for so long.

Seems to be only 2P.
Damn, Still brought when I get back to my ps3.

Hmm, I'm probably going to finish Uncharted 2 tonight and will want to jump into another game. Unfortunately my internet has become extremely flaky at home, but if it holds long enough I'll snag it tonight.

So is it a safe assumption that, in a 1P game, if my burning carcass of a ship lands in water, I can be "revived'?

Yes, this happened to me once, but it was crashing from overheating, I cannot confirm if it will cure an enemy hit.

I can confirm this. The first time it happened to me, I somehow managed to fall about two screens into some water scarcely bigger than my ship.
It will probably cure an enemy hit. When underwater, you appear to be basically invincible to enemy fire. (Though there are other ways to die.)

This. Although, I have to admit I do get a little chuckle out of seeing the rag doll physics applied to what are basically little tiny stick figures. They tumble and roll in some hilarious ways sometimes.
Very fun game and the music is definitely unique and very catchy. For $10, this is pretty easy to recommend.
As long as you are in the "burning ship" phase of death, you can land in water. If you are shot while burning you explode, if an enemy runs into you you explode, if you touch lava while burning (and probably black stuff) you explode.
Enemies shooting you just causes you to overheat, anyway.
Also if you are in the music business and you make money, you are a sell-out.

How dare they make money, how dare they! Starving 3rd World babies and shit and people waste their money on phat beats!
Which reminds me, Amon Tobin is the man. He did music for Splinter Cell and Infamous. He's not in this game though.

Amen. I didn't realize he did the music for Infamous. I was too busy electrocuting the hapless to notice! But yeah, Supermodified and Out From Outwhere are two of my favorite albums for sure. And the sound track for Chaos Theory is as good as the game. It's pretty much a full length album.
Hey I need someone to check if there is a brightness option in this games menus. My PS3 displays everything a tad dark in SD so if there is no option then I will have to wait until I get an HDTV again.

Let me tell you about Demon's Souls....
but the actual levels and the goals of the game are much simpler and more satisfying in many respects
edit: my girlfriend had a couple of goes with me and she liked it. but then again we got a fair way through eden, too
($9.95 it is)

By now someone has probably beaten me. By tomorrow I won't be in the top 1000.
EDIT: Well it looks like I was among the first 160 to beat the game. Don't a feel a sense of accomplishment with my life.

I mean, I'll probably buy it anyway. I loved Eden and Monsters, even though I was pretty crap at both. Is the music pretty good?
