All right. Back when I had the original Xbox, I was a silly stupid teenager who tended to trade in all of his games after he beat them once or twice. I'm wanting to remedy that fact, so I'm looking for some good xbox games to add to my collection. If you could, please only recommend games that are backwards compatible for the 360.
These games do not need to be mentioned, I already have them.
Halo
Halo 2
KotOR
KotOR 2
Fable
I'd love some good rpg recommendations if anyone has any, I know that wasn't exactly a strong point of the oxbox, but if there were some good ones I missed out on, please tell me I'm pretty eclectic and like most every genre, though I'm not huge on shooters or basically anything tom clancy.
I still trade games in, don't see why its silly or stupid.
more on topic though... I think Panzer Dragoon Orta is a cool guy. eh blows shit up and doesn't afraid of anything.
Mostly because you don't tend to get the greatest value back out of it, and I've also now become a bit of a collector.
But for me its the best option. I'm busy with work and what not a lot. Collecting is ok but I wouldn't make a blanket statement that its a stupid thing to do. The loss in value I incur from a trade in is worth it in time I save trying to sell an old game via other means.

Damn, i was typing up about Jade Empire, then i noticed a whole bunch of posts already listing it. But yeah, if you didn't excluded the KotoR games on your OP, because of dislike. Jade Empire is really worth a look.
Though i could perhaps be the first to recommend Hulk:Ultimate Destruction. 8-)8-)

Nah the games I included in the OP are ones I already have :P
I started making this list before I paid attention that you wanted BC only titles, but, I left the non BC titles in anyway (the BC titles are in bold). Not all console specific . . .
Otogi
Otogi 2 Phantom Dust Metal Arms Black Crimson Skies Freedom Fighters
Oddworld Stranger's Wrath Star Wars Republic Commando Deathrow Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
I can personally back up Crimson Skies and Freedom Fighters. I played Freedom Fighters on the pc though, but i imagine it works just as good, if not better on the Xbox.
Amped 1 and 2 got more played time on my old black house than any other game. Really I liked the first one better in terms of controls but the second one had way more content.
Also, despite your lack of interest in Tom Clancy games, Splinter Cell is worth a consideration. Chaos Theory is the best in the series, and you'd be fine just sticking with that.
Fourthing Freedom Fighters, which is probably the only decent squad-based game I've ever played, and Jade Empire, because if you liked KOTOR, you'll love it.

Black
Freedom Fighters
Burnout 3: Takedown (digital crack when it first came out, jesus...)
Ninja Gaiden Black
Panzer Dragoon Orta (FULL of win, one of the greatest shooters ever made)
Conker's Bad Fur Day (if you never got to play it on the N64)
Mercenaries
Any Splinter Cell
Thief: Deadly Shadows
Call of Cthulu
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory's really good if you like stealth.
I loved MGS, but had a hard time getting into the splinter cell games I tried. Don't ask me why o_O
Because Splinter Cell actually has more focus on stealth than MGS? :P
Lack of pantsless men and crotch grabbing in Splinter Cell?
In complete seriousness, there is a remake of MGS2 available for Xbox, if OP hasn't played it on the PS2 already.
Ninja Gaiden Black (definitely) Soul Calibur II (if you like 3D fighters) Dead or Alive 4 (see above, add 'with four people playing') Phantom Dust Hitman II: Silent Assassin (one of the few modern stealth action games in which you are NOT a government agent--and you can freaking kill someone with a golf club. Come on!)
As much as fans of Thief 1 and 2 hurf durf about it not being as good, Thief 3: Deadly Shadows is a fun game in its own right and I highly recommend it.
I really liked Gladius, which is a SRPG. It has a great mix of a complicated enough RPG combat system without needing outside assistance to keep track of everything. The fights were long enough be involving without lasting an hour past when the outcome was clear. It isn't a prefect game, but it was a lot of fun.
I think that the internet has been for years on the path to creating what is essentially an electronic Necronomicon: A collection of blasphemous unrealities so perverse that to even glimpse at its contents, if but for a moment, is to irrevocably forfeit a portion of your sanity.

I swear no one liked Black when it first came out. Maybe it has aged really well or something, but I am sure as time passes from when it was made, it gets more popular.
Maybe it's because EA are not dicks now as much as they used to be.
Black was good but it didn't live up to the hype at the time. That being said, there aren't really that many FPS games that do. So now people can look at the FPS's that have come out, see them for what they are (cookie cutter copies of each other... with ALIENZORZ!!!) and realize that Black was actually pretty specifically made for one reason and one reason only: to do for guns in video games what Sasha Grey does for women in porn.
They render the competition obsolete.

I bought this a month or two back when Gamestop had a 25% off coupon on original Xbox games, and I must say that I simply do not understand how anyone ever thought this game was good. The first 2/3rds of the game consists in terribly-designed platforming and every five minutes there is yet another cutscene that is wayyyy too long and has terrible voice acting that is spoken at the rate of two words a minute.
I did force myself to play through the entire thing, and while the last two levels (Saving Private Ryan and the Matrix) were alright, they certainly don't make up for the game's other sins.

I don't care about pretty much any game with Tom Clancy in the name, but Chaos Theory is incredible.
Mercenaries is brilliant explodey open world fun.
Psychonauts is a great game. In pure gameplay terms, it's a pretty much straight up platformer, but the characters are all ace.

Also, am I the only one who wishes MS would come and and say we no longer care about BC. I mean we haven't had an update since Nov '07.

Burnout 3 : Takedown is also probably on my top 10 games of all time list. 100%'d that motherfucker. So eye blisteringly quick.
A sequel has been confirmed, but we haven't seen anything about it yet.
