Photoshop for XMas Present?

My wife loves using the crappy Microsoft Photo IT! for editing digital photos she took. Would Photoshop Elements be a good present or can you recommend something better?

    Picasa is good for this sort of stuff, but it's free, so you're either going to have to make a fake disc and box for it and pretend you paid, or just go with Elements, which is definitely a very powerful tool that will serve her needs well if she's able to figure it out.

    Yeah it's a good gift, if she's into editing photos. software is kind of a "meh" gift to a lot of people, but if the shoe fits...

    I think shoes are a "meh" gift too :wink:

    Anyway, Elements should be fine, you don't need the whole shbang.
