Well kind of! I'm just trying to figure out the worth of having medic be your preferred class if you're actually trying to help people in need.
You make it very clear that people must go to YOU if they want healing. I'm no longer going to chase that crazy asshole with the chainsaw down some hallway filled with hissing horrors and things with dangerous limbs.
You are not Ash. You are going to die. Alone. Because I'm staying the fuck away from you.

I don't understand why people get confused about medic. It gets better and cheaper body armor along with better healing. It's all about survival.
You don't sit around with the health gun out just cause your a medic.
So, I've been scouring interwebs hoping to find some kind of client side thing for this game that lets you use custom tracks for the music, but so far all I found was this

Well yeah. I kind of feel like I'm not getting my point across, but it's basically this:
You are low on health and in need of a healing.
Are you in grave danger(ie unable to run away?) if yes, the medic is going to die if he gets to you and you'll die anyway.
Are you out of danger? Then you can probably heal yourself. Where exactly does the medic enter this equation other than that one in fifty times he manages to heal you while you're running away from a chain saw wielding freak.

Why would I need better personal longevity when it would be FAR superior to take another Perk with actual offensive benefits? If I was a a sharpshooter instead of a Medic, I'd be doing a LOT more damage and thus preventing shit from getting close enough to hurt my precious body armor.
No, the Medic heals teammates. This doesn't mean you sit with your injector act, but it does mean you aid people when their health goes down. Healing yourself eats up your ENTIRE injector, which takes a long time to recharge for non-medics. However, having two other people running around healing is a waste of time. It's far superior for a medic to quickly be able to heal people. Your team, ideally, concentrates on killing mans while you play Nurse. Then you go back to picking off crawlers and clots with your Rifle.

In back to back fighting when you are low on mans but have more than one second to live, it's excellent.
His passive movement speed buff also makes it easy as hell to kite Flesh Pounderers around.
So, I've been scouring interwebs hoping to find some kind of client side thing for this game that lets you use custom tracks for the music, but so far all I found was this
just replace the music in E:/steam/steamapps/common/killingfloor/music with .ogg files. that should do it...
maybe make them the same names
Yeah, you can rename the files to match the music already in there, but you have to actually encode the music in ogg first.
And obviously I am leetle baby and don't think it should be that hard.
I mean, Bethesda had it right. Make it simple, so all you have to do is drop files in different folders set for different events, and they play at random.

Medic's probably THE best Patriarch soloer. Fastest move speed means you're more likely to survive his charges. Better healing also means you're more likely to survive long enough to get the armor respawn while soloing him.

Because you have medic level five hundred and everything else is level 2 because medic is so easy to level up.
Also, how do you manually connect to a server by ip? Are the PA servers restricted to group members only or what? I'm rusty on my Unreal Engine console commands.
Because you have medic level five hundred and everything else is level 2 because medic is so easy to level up.
My medic is level three, and I've no idea what you mean because even a level TWO of any other perk is going to have better damage than a level five Medic. Medic can be pretty hard to level if your crew is so badass they rarely take damage.
But please, whine more that the perk which is the least fun is so easy to level. Don't let me spoil your fun.

They should have made it so the medic can medic people on the move more easily. Having them have a longer medic'able range would be good, but I'm not sure of an elegant way to implement that.
I don't think they want you to just move around a dude letting him tank down shit. Healing SHOULD be more forgiving than what it is. A pain in the ass for the heal to connect at times.
Now that everyone's leveled up a bit and know to go hunting shotgun, flamethrower, and law for the Patriarch, I don't think I've lost in the past couple days.
So I just hooked up left4dead, and damn, that really doesnt hold a candle to the brightness that is Killing Floor. The group you're with isnt always a bunch of eliteist pricks and fun seems to be an important factor. I'm sure both have their merits, but damn, KF seems to have won this genre war.(public server experience, guess they were trying to impress their prom dates or something)
(still angry with my experience with L4D, I want my money back (though the game is technically well done))
While there are similarities between the two games, I don't feel they're that easily compared against one another directly.
I'd liken them to Unreal Tournament 2K4;
Left 4 Dead is a series of Assault maps; you have objectives to reach/distance to cover, and resources are found spread out along the way.
Killing Floor is a series of Invasion maps; you don't have any objectives except "survive", don't really need to go anywhere except shifting around if a swarm is overwhelming you or you need to hit the trader (which is just a slightly less convenient form of upgrade screen from most Invasion servers), and resources are mainly obtained through killing enemies and turning those points/cash into new gear at said trader.
They both use similar artistic/game resources, but both play out in fairly unique ways.
I enjoy them both, but like Assault, the quality of L4D games seemed to depend heavily upon having a quality crew backing you. Like Invasion, I'm happy to jump into just about any server, kill things for a while, and will usually have fun with that. Fleshpounds and the Patriarch are the only things that require heavy teamwork, and while sticking together is often more efficient, wandering off with one other person is rarely much of an issue except for those instances.
That said, as much as I love achievement hunting, the Perks system of permanent improvements to the various playstyles involved in KF holds a special appeal to me, just as sticking with a few good Invasion servers had me coming back for days and weeks as my character got higher levels, and thus more/better abilities. Whether that appeal remains once I've capped out those elements remains to be seen, but given the numbers being thrown around for the higher ranks and my currently minimal playtime, I suspect it'll be quite a while before that's an issue.
Forar on
First they came for the Muslims, and we said NOT TODAY, MOTHERFUCKER!
I had a great game with some PA folk earlier tonight. Great fun.
I left right after I stood in doorway with the chainsaw rearing as a ton of mans dropped on me. I think I got 30 kills before I died ^_^
Yeah I was standing right behind you when that happened. You were tearing shit up with that chainsaw. You probably would have made it if you hadn't been swarmed by crawlers.
I haven't figured out how best to deal with crawlers using a chainsaw. It seems if you are standing, you have to look straight down to actually hit them. I have tried crouching with some success, but even then they usually get a hit on you before going down. I usually just end up whipping out a pistol. But when I play beserker I want that chainsaw running nonstop!
I think that was the same round where we had 2 or 3 chainsaws going at once, it was beautiful. I got the bitter irony achievement by taking out 2 scrakes by suicide charging with a chainsaw, and took out a fleshpound or two like that as well. I remember seeing someone tear through like 50 clots with a chainsaw (maybe it was you fsmith1). The clots had strung out in a single file line, and it was like someone had just pulled back a windup car. The guy just ran forward and plowed through the whole horde, it was awesome!
I've decided that flamethrowers are fun. Especially when the specimens finally break through that welded door and the team starts freaking out and then oh my god there's fire everywhere!

Entirely different games. This one is the run and gun CS style zombie game. That one (expert campaign) requires more of the slow and methodical swat style approach.

I've had some luck with walking backwards and timing the secondary attack with their leaping attack. Of course, you'll need them to be fairly spread out for that to work, if several jump you you'll be better of with regular, sustained sawing.
epppiicccc farm match on Hard just now. 2-3 of us survived for the most part and then I ran around crying, trying to gather ammo. I died from a welded door >.<
Map was on last round 7/7 around 40 mans left to be kilt.
