I've noticed today while spectating someone else while playing West London, that if some zeds, like clots, have room, they'll try to slowly walk away from where a grenade is. It was pretty darn obvious, and I was intrigued by that.

Yeah. When I first started playing KF it seemed like everything just came right at me. Now I'm starting to realize just how sneaky these bastards are. I've seen specimens just walk right by me to attack someone from behind. Stalkers will try to flank you for sure. They definitely seem to be aware of your line of sight.
Scrakes: After too much damage, they attack fast, until you're dead. Very high health, high attack. Show up more often than Fleshpounds, and they have resistance to crossbow bolts. Not resistant to anything else, just has tons of health.
Huh. Checking up on the KF wiki, learning interesting stuff.
For example, enemies have separate hitpoints for head and the rest of the body.
Sirens have a whole lot of head hitpoints compared to other zeds - on normal they have 300 body hp, 200 head hp, with one player. That's a ton of head hps relative to the body.
Yeah, by the time I came across it I was already between levels 4-6 for all of my classes, and I still learned a bunch of stuff I didn't know that changed my class playstyles. Like grenades get set off by explosions, so when you're a demo and you see something large to get, you can toss down a few grenades at it's feet, then whip out one of the grenade launchers and use that to blow all the grenades at the same time, instead of waiting for them (and have the enemy walk out of range by that point).

The wiki insists that Scrakes are NOT resistant to explosive damage, while I've heard from many players that they ARE resistant to explosive damage.
I am positive that if the zombie apocalypse every actually happens, I am immediately hitting the road and finding Roland in real life. Even if he is a poor shot in reality, he knows how shit goes down and how to take care of himself. Even if it means sacrificing others.
Good fun was had, thanks for the two hours or so guys. The highlight of my day was blowing myself up with a poorly thrown grenade in the office map.
I consider it my duty, if at low health and about to die to something gigantic, to throw every grenade I have and go out in a blaze of glory.
Sometimes this happens unintentionally because I either threw short or one bounced off a Zed or some shit. Look, I don't know, but as much as I hate being in the blast radius, I do like that grenades seem to have a significant kill zone in this game.
Probably all sorts of bias up ins, but at times it feels like grenades have a HUGE range when I'm trying to run away from them, but a tiny range when I'm trying to kill a crowd.

That wiki is full of bad information. It's the same health bar, they just take more damage from headshots. Snipers get bonus damage with their headshots.

There may be a flaw in your plan.
I realized that as I wrote it but I also realized I have a similar outlook. If it comes down to it, we're both well adapt at just ditching each other and trying to get out alive. How can it go wrong?
may I recommend a removal of 2 maps? Horzine mall and Arcade Underground. Underground isn't even finished (totally dark, and some trader guide orbs don't work) and Horzine mall, well, it's just unfun. it's the only 2 I feel sure are definite blahs.

Well while I don't necessarily agree about Horzine Mall, when I tested it I found it is no longer whitelisted anyway, so I'll be pulling that one ASAP.
As for Arcade Underground, it's actually intentionally really dark. The trader guide path not working is, however, completely unintentional and I feel justified pulling the map for that reason alone.

Once again, thanks for hosting this server, Maddoc. I enjoy playing this game, regardless. The pub scene for KF is one of the better ones I've experienced. It doesn't compare to playing with fellow PAers though. It's always a good time with a PA crew, win or lose.

Grenades and shotguns seem to actually work like grenades and shotguns in this game.
As opposed to usual video game grenades that have a 1m kill radius, and video game shotguns that have an effective range of your arm.
Up until WW2 many countries used grenades with a casualty radius larger than the average soldier could throw them (i.e. you had to use them in cover). This is one reason many countries adopted grenadiers (taking the biggest, strongest soldiers and making them dedicated to throwing bombs). WW1 started a trend towards more 'offensive' grenades that soldiers could throw ahead of themselves while storming a position, but still proved pretty deadly out to 12-15m (40-50 feet).
I still end up injuring myself with grenades because I keep expecting them to work like Call of Duty or Halo grenades.
And I would not want to be 100 feet downrange from someone firing a shotgun, but every video game makes that appear to be a safe distance (except for KF where you can actually do significant damage at range). In reality sure the pellets spread, but they're still moving plenty fast to destroy you.

It's creepy quotient is only 30% of the scare factor of Wyre Forest, which is a creep factor of 130% of Underground.

Just look up. You'll see what I'm talking about.
It's on the wall in one of the bunkers on Wyre. I was playing around with beginner short games to get some kills for my zerker perk and to check out the maps in a low pressure game. The room has some Stalkers in various stages of experimentation laid out on lab tables. And that stuff is scrawled all over one of the walls. It's pretty creepy shit.
Any advice on leveling up shotties on the higher perk levels? You know, other than shoot mans. I got the door requirements but not the damage.

Harder difficulties and full teams. Health goes up with difficulty and the amount of team mates you have. All the specimens will have more health for you pick up.
Cool, thanks, not sure I'm ready for hard yet but I'll give it a whirl. I saw someone mention using mods, like bloat-ed but it doesn't look like you can select perks using mutilators in the games I've tried, so I think that may have been changed (?).

Remember that the shotgun pellets can go through specimens when you're using support specialist, so aiming into a crowd helps a lot

This is the one thing that totally frightens me about legitimately scary movies, and horror games.
There are people's brains out there that legitimately work like this and think this crap up.

Isolation is what makes a game scary. I have a hard time being scared when I'm with other people.
And then I get separated from the group.
Yesterday on the server on this huge map which was a research facility in the middle of the ocean, we were below decks just coming back from getting supplies from the trader. I had waited a little bit and went down half a level before I realized everyone was going up. So I rush to follow them, and as soon as I see them get out of the staircase area I run into a huge wave of zombies whose spawn level is directly to the right of me.
To make matters worse, a shit ton of them also were shuffling up from where I just came, so I went out in a blaze of glory, taking four of the son of a bitches out with me. Didn't help that the area was near pitch-black.
