Yeah, the hero weapon morph is completely retarded. I've avoided using magic save for at the beginning when I have to and my second upgrades for the melee are both due to combat magic. I haven't used any in hours!

So my new guy (The old one didn't bug out, I just beat it and moved on to a new character) has Swifts Irregulars from the Brightwall shop. It should just about be upgraded by the time I reach the fort. This is going to be so much better.

Is that the rifle where you have to get a score of 2,000 from the mortar mini-game? My best score has been 1910. I have no idea how I would ever manage 2,000.

I should play some more co-op today, too. A rifle I bought is co-op orientated. I'd love to level that up. The Champions Companion or something? I believe I bought it last night in your game.

If my mic is indeed dead, though, I'm going to be pissed. I just bought this headset.

Blasting as many as soon as they appear helps, as does picking off loners as you move to one side of the area to the other.

Anyway, anyone know where I can buy a Toy Gun? Kid's begging for it, but I can't seem to find a shop that has it...

So Im still close to the beginning I assume, I just got to
    Mourningwood

and at the moment, the only real annoyance is:

I miss the damn expression wheel. There are just so many times where I don't want to act like a jackass. I realize it doesn't REALLY matter, but if I have to dance with one more stranger just because it's my ONLY OPTION I am going to lose it. Please, for the love of god, allow me to HANDSHAKE AGAIN. I felt so awesome in the beginning when I would INTRODUCE MYSELF to people. It just made me, the player, feel very prince like, and very cool. Then going back and joking around made some SENSE, and made me - the player! - feel like I had a real bond with these people.

I just tickled a COMPLETE STRANGER at the monorail. It was WEIRD. I wanted to shake hands and say HELLO, not MOLEST HIM.

Tickling has nothing on the actual molestation option.

    It's amazing.

Is the hero morphing bugged or did Lionhead really hit the brakes on that feature? My hero has 2 in Strength and Stature and I can't really tell if he's changed from his original looks.

TBH I don't mind the lack of extreme morphing , granted that's because they don't have potions and such for one to tailor the character to look the way one likes.

Wasn't a huge fan of being an 8 ft. amazon in Fable 2.

I think it was less that and more the need for a more united Albion. The old Queen apparently was unable to gain the loyalty of the various factions of Albion.

    Like Reaver Industries.

    Fuck you Reaver.

That reminds me, Peter Molyneux really really really doesn't want us to kill
    Reaver...

Neither do I. He brings such a delicous flavor to Fable. He's the Frank N. Furter to our Hero's Brad/Janet.

It's beginning to get a bit suspension of disbelief breaking though.
In Fable 2, he tried to kill you MANY times and was obviously a pretty amoral bastard. But at least there you apparently needed him to access the music box.

In Fable 3? He tries to kill you, headed a fucking Balverine Cult and is perfectly willing to just murder citizens in the street. There's no sensible reason for a good aligned king to not want this fucker dead and gone.

    Definitely, considering that
Logan and Reaver are currently to blame for the state of affairs in Albion and Logan is the only one with any excuse. Reaver is just in it for the lawls. Hell Page even makes a mention of how she'll make sure to see Reaver dead.

I'm not even sure why he has a voice in the New Revolution state aside from being Stephen Fry and having money , which you can completely ignore if you are good guy basically. I'm gonna assume because the team likes the character so much they say you need his money regardless

Man, I've earlier stated in this thread that I have a kind of love/hate relationship with the Fable series but I have to say that removing so much of the visible U.I is one of the dumbest things that Lionhead has done. Being able to gauge how close you are to death is a pretty nice thing to have, my dear Moyneux. I also hate the fact that you can't choose your expressions anymore.

I understand that the Fable games are supposed to be userfriendly and very "light" on the RPG aspect but it's starting to feel that far too much gameplay elements get cut and the things added instead doesn't really contribute that much to the game. I mean seriously, who gives a shit that I can hold someones hand?

Spent 8 hours playing this today. Just got to Bowerstone, but I'm swimming in weapons and cash. Promised my wife I wouldn't outpace her in the story, so I'm just holding back doing relationship quests and smithing for right now.

Extremely enjoyable so far. Finished leveling my fairy hammer, guess I need to start work on something else. Facemelter seems fun.

The expression thing would be nice, you can very easily gauge how close you are to death. When the d-pad thing pops up, you're starting to get hurt. When the d-pad thing starts flashing red, you're starting to get hurt bad, and when the game starts to desaturate and the edges of the screen turn red, you're pretty much getting ready to die.

Your health regenerates so it doesn't matter outside of combat.

I keep seeing complaints on the internet about how you can't tell how close you are to death, but the effects of low health are made pretty obvious and they're pretty standard effects in action games of all sorts these days. So I can only assume people aren't realizing your health regenerates and are worried about having low health outside of combat.

But it tells you it does in the loading screen tips (and there aren't very many of them so you may see it a couple times before you even get to fight an enemy that does damage) and when you're badly hurt, at the top of the screen it even tells you that if you avoid hits, your health will regenerate.

So I don't really know what else they could have done to let you know.

I haven't really found the lack of a health bar to be that big of a deal. If I wasn't going for the achievement, I probably wouldn't care in the least. As it stands, you've got a pretty good idea when you're getting your ass kicked anyway, so it's not like it's crucial information you're not getting. Just not with the granularity that we see in other games.

I like the minimal hud. Keeps me focused on exploring and playing rather than minutia.

Now I just need to decide what melee weapon I want to level next.

There should be a letter/audiolog for you to pick up that continues the quest.

They pretty much slammed the brakes through the floor of the bus, yeah. You start off around the same size as the other normal npcs and become progressively taller and more beefy, but not to the point of hulking out like in 2.

It's much less noticeable if you level stature and strength equally, as you just look proportionate for your size for the first few stars until you finally notice, hey, these people are small.
I've read the Ben finn journal, and picked up the rare book on the second level. Besides that I can't do anything else. Also, there was only one mercenary I had to fight, he says "have at him, fellas" but he's the only one I have to fight. I'm pretty sure this is a bug.

I agree, Fable 1 really was the weakest game and it wasn't just the more enclosed spaces that did it. There are lots of little things that are really awful decisions that were changed in later games for good reasons. It also has the weakest story. It does have the most defined and complexly developed setting, but I can't say it hurts Fable 2 and 3 that they ripped that stuff right out and have since ignored it. I'd even say it's a good thing.

There was a lot of odd things about what people thought about Fable I didn't understand (Not you guys, this all makes sense, the topic just reminded me). Like when it first came out, I remember reading a review for it in a magazine, I can't remember which, where they complained the story wasn't large enough, how there wasn't some world threatening danger and you were just avenging your family. Really, guy? Did you just quit after the arena?

With Fable III, the one thing I'm really missing is the expression wheel. Working up some of the evil weapons, I'm getting really tired of continually farting in people's faces. "Worse than a hobbe fart!" grates after the fiftieth time.
As well, I'm really annoyed I can't use the dpad for anything until it shows up on the screen, and that I can't change what it displays.
Want to check the map? Fuck you, you have six guild seals and you can afford that chest you don't want to unlock. Oh, you need to go to the Road to Rule? But your spouse has a gift for you! Sure, you can head into the Sanctuary and do it, but I'd be complaining if I was playing Dragon Age and had to open up a menu entitled "Inventory" to click on "Stuff I have on me" to finally get to the menu I want. Same damn thing.

Also, bugs, but I'm not sure who I want to blame for that. Yet.

    Yes, high rent lowers morality.

It also seems like low rent and "good" King options will turn some of your followers into friends over time with doing friend quests. That or my "get 30 friends" sword decided it was tired of not having any augments.
