What was the name of that game? (Kart Racer)

There was this mid 90's Windows game I remember playing off of a floppy disk. It was a kart-racer, so it probably came out after Mario Kart hit the scene and I remember it having a bunch of animals. In fact I'm pretty sure it was a shameless Mario Kart clone.

Any help?

While this thread is live... I remember back when I first got Windows 98, I also got this cool demo of a racing game where you flew a flying car through a canyon. Sound familiar to anyone?

Dunno if it's it, but Slipstream immediately popped into my head when you said that.

I played the shit out of both Skunny Kart and Whacky Wheels back in the day. I loved those games. I might still have the old pc gamer demo disks that had them.

My favorite racing game will forever be "Stunts". I wasted many an hour on that game.

I recommend you check out TrackMania Nations. Stunts lives on, and it's free.

Is that the one where you can make your own racetrack and it can have like loops and stuff? If so that was awesome!

(I can't access almost anything game related at work so the link posted is blocked)

I'd like to jump on the thread and ask about another racer from SNES past.
I remember you could "battle" people while racing and your driver would swing out an arm and try and hit the racer next to you. It was filled with characters but the only one I can remember is a frankenstein character.

I'm sure it was on the SNES.

    EDIT: Found it! Street Racer

Oh god, if you guys are naming old games here's one that's been bothering me for YEARS. There was this game when I was a kid (95-99ish period) where there was this game and you controlled a tank of some sort. You were meant to destroy the enemy's base or something and you could cut down logs to build rafts and dig holes in the ground to create rivers and stuff to serve as obstacles to your base or something.

    Anyone know it?

Wait, my post got borked. I swear when I posted it I linked to a game called Inanimate Racer or something. Basically your choices for vehicles were upside down toy car, a box, and some other stuff that can't move. And they don't move.

    Seconded.

Although it can be pretty hard at times. Fortunately (or unfortunately depend on how you view it), cars can't touch or clip each other, so you can just concentrate on racing and competing for the best time. It's all about shaving the milliseconds off as you go around. The cars are indestructible as well, although you'll find no shortage of places where you can fling yourself off the racetrack.
