I think part of the hipster confusion comes from the fact that they're advertised in a very hipster-ish way. Look at that poster in the OP, for instance.

I don't find Kristen Schaal attractive

however, I do indeed thoroughly enjoy Bret and Jermaine

in fact, last night I was watching Tenacious D: Complete Masterworks and all I could think was that I wished I was watching the Conchords instead because the material on Complete Masterworks was pretty bleh

No, no. Ten episodes were ordered and ten episodes were delivered.

It wasn't awful, either. The songs were mostly forgettable, but the humour was still top-notch. But by the end of the season, it started to feel like they were repeating jokes. Themes and basic episode plots were the same as the first season's and didn't really add anything to the show.

Yeah, I'd say calling season 2 a failure is a pretty major overstatement. There was still a ton of great stuff in the new episodes.

Season one took a while to get going. It wasn't funny outside of the songs until the Bowie episode.

The one where they went on tour was a gem though.

I'm pretty glad they limited it to two seasons, they've had all the songs they used in the shows for up to 10 years, I really doubt they could keep creating decent quality songs consistently.

If it's over, I won't cry. They closed it pretty well. And we got some quality shit out of it. So it'll be a nice solid season of 22 episodes.

Oh.. it's two seasons? Geeze. What fucking short seasons. :P

Still, the guys are great whether they're on a show or doing a live show. I love them. Wish I could see them in person.
