I finally unlocked the Sandman yesterday. Man, is that weapon fun, though surprisingly hard to aim. I keep expecting it to arc more than it does, so most of my shots go whizzing right above my target's head. Very useful at supporting an offensive push though, there were quite a few times when I long-range bonked a sniper or heavy, allowing my team to move into position unhindered. Can't stand not having a double-jump, though, I've comboed it with the FAN for the sole reason of having a ghetto double-jump.

I ghetto-jump with the FAN. And the blowback is nice for getting enemies off the capture points or just right out of your face entirely. The bonk-ball as I call it is too much fun not to use.
If ragdolls have weight I could see a custom map similar to the demo/soldier Jump maps where there's a constant rain of corpses onto a physics-enabled platform a sniper is on and he has to pin them to the walls to stop them from weighting down the platform and making it tip over.
Not that this isn't pretty cool but I desperately want the next update to be a spy standing behind the sniper's corpse. I know this was mentioned like two pages ago but it would be the greatest thing they could possibly do.
so bow headshot != crit based on:
"One headshot from the Huntsman can mean an instant crit"
and if I don't die I get a Scarlet Feather so the rest of the team knows I am low on health?
Wait i don't get it what is the disadvantage of that stupid bow and arrow
It's a projectile with an actual arc and as such is not hitscan, can be dodged, has a maximum effective range, and can be airblasted.
(maximum effective range means a point where the arc makes it too hard to aim because you'll need to compensate so much)
Airblasted you say?
ho ho ho...
So can the Sandman knock it back as well?
It seems like it would be super-hard to Airblast an arrow back with any effectiveness. Rockets are only sometimes useful because of their splash damage. For 25 ammo it's a risk.
But maybe one of the Pyro's super-weapons will be a reduced-cost Airblast flamethrower.

It's not instant so there's a chance to dodge/uber/blowback (Though it's suppose to be really fast, so probably faster then then sandman or the same speed)
Less ammo only 18 shots (Compared to 25 on the normal rifle)
No zoom (no scope?)
Maybes
Reload time = unknown (Could be more, probably the same)
Fully charged bow might not do as much damage as a fully charged rifle shot
"One headshot from the Huntsman can mean an instant crit"
Possibly only fully charged shots can crit?

OMG i remember that kill at ~ 3:49. Freaking few feet away from cap point.
I'm guessing around the same speed as a flare.

People whose health is low enough to be killed by a single shot?
Either that or I just had a really stupid idea.
Well I think I've seen some combine corpses falling knock over barrels and things in HL2 single player
I can't be completely sure though
edit: whoops, forgot to cut out the transparency size. It's on a background, see.
Hope the unlocking won't be too hard, however they end up doing it.

ed: best totp or bestest totp?
I bet at least one of them involves meleeing people to death while ubered.
SHF=SHOOT HIM FIRST?
If Phil is "him" I am so ready.
Simply because when I uber him he wastes it on the fucking SMG.
I UBER YOU FOR A REASON YOU FERNER.
Said reason is so you can kill mans.

Also, there isn't a scope on the bow, so we don't know if you'll even be able to zoom in with it.

Faster charging, and projectile aiming for people who prefer it.

Much shorter charge time (1 sec vs ~4-5) and presumably a faster reload time.
