From what I've read, Inhumans do in fact enjoy roles based on their powers, but aside from the difference between royalty and non-royalty they are all treated with respect.

Course, up until recently the Inhumans also employed a race of lower beings (weird eunuch things) for menial labor, and those dudes were essentially slaves.

ah. I had always imagined the inhumans with shittier powers becoming the menial laborers. But despite how much I love the designs of and the general idea behind the inhumans, I don't think I've read anything with them prominently in it with the exception of the civil war trade. Most of what I've read of them was old 60s and 70s Fantastic Four issues.

You know, if Black Bolt doesn't survive the War of Kings, I could totally see Medusa going nuts, forcing Crystal and Ronan to (re)take the throne. It'd give them a reason to get involved when Blastaar inevitably invades Earth from the Negative Zone, since Crystal still likes Earth and Ronan's got history with the folks who fought Annihilus.

actually, that makes me realize that for characters I like so much, I haven't read much of them.

Outside of the current War of the King stuff, what are some good Inhuman stories ai can track down in trade or whatever?

My buddies local band in Anchorage for a while was called "Black Bolt and the Inhumans". They actually achieved moderate success in the local music scene.

I want Lockjaw and Cosmo to develop a (platonic) relationship akin to Medusa and Blackbolt, where Cosmo is his voice. And then they go on awesome adventures.

As much as I like Cosmo, vs. a frog with the power of Thor the frog is going to whip his ass.

But it's only a teeny tiny sliver of the hammer. Cosmo seems to have pretty strong telepathy, and could probably make a psionic paw on par with Psylocke's.

Immomen's art looks gorgeous I must say. And good to see Bendis give Jonas Harrow the spotlight a bit.

The two page spread makes it look like Bucky and Woverine are dating, and Wolverine isn't being a good little man and having the house clean with dinner on the table when Bucky gets home.

It's meta commentary form an American writer and Canadian artist on American/Canadian relations.

Immonen's art is always a treat though, glad he's on Marvel's best selling book.

Have any of the other Dark Reign books touched on what deal The Hood had to cut with Loki to get back in the game? He's definitely flying in that panel.

  • FaynorFaynor Registered User regular

It hasn't really been explored yet, I'm pretty sure. Either way, that panel was a flashback so I think it might have taken place before the deal.

*sigh* I really wish they could sit down and have a meeting to decide on The Hoods character, i really liked the way they treated him at the start and in his Dark Reign mini-series where he was in charge because he treated it like a business and didn't behave like the standard swaggering super-villain boss. When he's just being wheeled out to get his arse kicked by whoever and have his minions complain and him react as cliche villain boss model A, it really seems like a waste of a character to me.

Wasn't Mighty Avengers supposed to make Hank Pym cool again? Having him
make out with his robot granddaughter and start a fight with the Fantastic Four
just makes him seem as fucked up as always. And this time he can't blame it on a Skrull.

I've got all the issues except that one. So I feel like I should buy it. But I don't want to encourage Marvel by giving them money for this crap. I do that with lots of their other shitty books.

The Land art wasn't even pretty if you squint because his panels were so confusing, and the story was really vague in some parts and contradictory in others.

But that Dazzler moment was pretty cool (even though it was preceded by some really corny dialogue).
