Manny started boxing when he was 16. he's married to a woman named Jinkee (don't ask, Filipinos name their kids really odd things)

he worked his way up the boxing circuit in the Philippines and eventually came over to the US. most recently, he showed Oscar de la Hoya the door:

    pretty much.

    his fight against Mayweather was a disgrace, though. De La Hoya looked like he was trying to slap Mayweather instead of punch him, while Mayweather was just dancing around the ring like an idiot instead of trying to actually fight.
