Here are some XNA games that were released recently. I haven't tried any of these yet, but I'll let people know my impressions after my downloads finish.
Halfbrick Echoes (200 pts) - I talked about in last week's thread, but it just came out today. Looks like an awesome action/puzzle game where you run around collecting gems, but with each gem you grab, an evil doppelganger appears that traces your steps & kills you if you touch it. Since I have 200 MS points left, I'll probably be buying this.
Carnn Age (400 pts) - Top down overhead dual stick shooter. Graphics aren't very good, but it looks like it might be fun.
Orbyx - Mystic Orbs of Chaos (400 pts) - Peggle knock off. Might be good.
EZMuze+ Hamst3r Edition (800 pts) - Mix over 500 loops of music to create songs. The earlier version of this game (200 pts, maybe 50-100 loops) was kind of fun and this version looks like it'll be a ton better.
Carrum (400 pts) - It's the classic game of Carrum. Looks decent.
After playing and purchasing Halfbrick Echoes, I think I can safely say that this is the first really killer game on XNA Community Games. Original concept, fun gameplay, solid presentation, tons of content (dozens of levels + scores & times to beat + multiple levels of trophies + alternate gameplay modes + multiplayer), all at 200 MS points. It's like some sort of insane blend of Pac-Man, the Pacifism Mode from Geometry Wars 2, and Braid. In short, check out the demo NOW.
As for the other recent games that I tried, Carnn Age was okay, but not great. Orbyx was very derivative of Peggle (right down to the slow down close up when you're about to hit the last peg), but it did do a few things differently:
In 1-2, instead of a ball catcher at the bottom, you got an Arcanoid/Pong/Breakout style paddle that you could move around to keep the ball in play.
In 1-3, the ball launcher was in the middle of the screen.
There are evil black pegs that cancel all the pegs you've hit so far with that ball.
And when you finish a level, a bunch of bonus point bubbles start to fall from the screen.
It's probably worth picking up if you love Peggle and can't get enough. I probably wouldn't recommend it over Peggle though, even at the lower price.

But is it really that good? I know it gets a lot of praise, but the videos do absolutely nothing for me. It reminds me a lot of Pandemonium.

Their site does the same thing to me with Dokapon Journey. The store I went to did a SKU check and found several stores with copies.
