Recommend me good online reading material

I have a job where I sit in the campus computer labs making sure the printer's full of paper, people aren't eating or drinking, etc. Quite the easy and laid back job, and I am on the computer for most of it.

As such, I'm only allowed to browse the web. Aside from the forums, I really like to read webcomics. Problem is, I've already gone through the entire archives of all of em. PA, Questionable Content, Achewood, VG cats, that sorta thing.

So, pa'ers, care to give me some long-running webcomics and/or reading material? Interesting, funny stories, that kinda thing? It would really help my time go faster in the labs. Thanks.

Most of HP Lovecraft's work is in the public domain.

A Softer World is pretty great, though it probably won't last you all that long. I find Wondermark funny, though I don't know what the overall consensus on that one is.

Orikaeshigitae linked this story in the chat thread a while ago, and while I keep putting off reading it, he said it was "pretty interesting." Might want to check it out if your boss won't get angry at the NSFW text (though you probably wouldn't be reading PA if that were the case).

What about that one Ted the carver story where it's like a guy going through caves and shit with some other friends and shit?

From a reading perspective, you can download all of Cory Doctrow's books (fiction) for free and without any DRM at his site: http://www.craphound.com/

I've paid for each of the books; try them online and see if you like them.

You may have already read it, but I don't think everyone knows about the comic Concerned. It is set in the Half-Life 2 universe and takes place during the game. The creator used Gary's Mod to pose all the characters. Quite good: http://www.hlcomic.com/archive/

If you haven't read the stuff on Rudius Media yet, you should definitely give it a try. However, keep in mind that a lot of the stuff there (mostly on Tucker Max, Eric Schaeffer, and Fire on the Line) is pretty NSFW.

Also, SydLexia and Slowbeef have hilarious video game and pop culture commentary.

I think http://johndiesattheend.com/ is pretty good, though its prolly not for everyone. Saturday Morning breakfast Cereal is a pretty good comic if you haven't read that yet.

Yeah, NSFW text isn't a problem. Images, on the other hand, are. Thanks for the suggestions so far, I'll be checking em out during my shift tonight.

PvP goes back eight years, with an update everyday. Also, Wondermark is a pretty funny if you like absurd humor. I also know that 8-Bit Theater goes back a long ways, although I haven't read it in forever.

Also, you can spend hours looking up random stuff on Wikipedia.

www.pbfcomics.com has some truly wonderful, horrible humor. Only updated once a week, though. :(

That would be Ted's Caving Page. Great story. It's pretty creepy, so if you're in the mood for a good horror/scary story, it's a good one. Plus, it takes a good half-hour or more to get through, so it'll keep you busy for a while.

On that same note, some more horror stories are Dionaea House, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, and Memories of My Head. Dionaea House is especially fun because there's much more to the story than what it first looks like.
