Had a good date today. She was a bit different than my normal. Going for a second date when I am back from Colorado.

Then I got to listen to a really just random argument between two old gay dudes on the metro that was highly entertaining.

    Hmmm

I should get drunk and call in to work tomorrow :(

    Would there be any consequences

Almost surely not beyond maybe not setting the greatest example

Remember, New York is primarily made up of people whose ancestors got off the boat, took a look around and said, “eh, good enough.”

I think this is true of most immigrants!

But what about all those people who showed up, said “this place sucks, let’s go further west” and ended up populating settler-colonializing the rest of America

This was a lot of my family.

Mostly they wanted land. And not dealing with other people. Mostly the land.

    Don't drunk call work.
Call in too drunk to come to work.

One year we got a service call the day of our christmas party so we sent a sober guy and then me and the owner checked up on him later it was pretty funny.

I used to work with a guy who would semi regularly call in too drunk to come to work, close out the bar and then show up to work an hour before his shift. Because work was closer to the bars than home.

so he drank for like a day and a half and then went to work?

WashPo has a big article on spirituality and such in the US. And this is the best picture out of it.

Theistic Satanist conjure witch Janeia Prentiss has identified with goth culture since becoming obsessed with death as a child. She found an outlet through witchcraft, connecting with the hoodoo and conjure practiced by her ancestors, who were slaves in the American South.

I worked with a guy on another shift who regularly stored a cooler of beer in the bed of his truck because he was going fishing or hunting after work.

He stopped doing that after everyone on my shift grabbed one as they were leaving and cleaned out his cooler.

Lepers get shunned pretty hard, you know.

It was that somehow, from within the derelict-horror, they had learned a way to see inside an ugly, broken thing... And take away its pain.

    Work your in-call drunk.

every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.

Last call was at 2 in Denver, where I worked was close to colfax. His shift was at 4. He would show up at 3 and either start working or sleep an hour in his car.

[chat] I just imagined, out of the ether, an amazing alternative arrangement to "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and I need someway to preserve the tune in my head for future study

7-0, 1-3, and 6-2 drafts tonight before MTGA seems to have shit the bed. So that's going well! The 1-3 draft was paid for by gold so it was naturally worse due to the game not giving me as good of cards since it wasn't with real money. >.> (Thanks people who tuned into the stream!)
