My mouse! Es ist kaputt!

I am running Windows XP SP 3, which is a relatively new re-install. I am using an MX518. Occasionally, at random, my mouse cursor will flicker and then the sensitivity of my mouse will be way down. I've learned I can fix this problem by going into SetPoint, clicking apply, and minimizing it. That temporarily fixes it, but the problem still creeps up and I'm left in the dark as to what the cause is.

Anyone have any solutions?

Try uninstalling SetPoint? It's mostly unneeded anyway.

If uninstalling/reinstalling SetPoint doesn't help it could be a hardware problem. Logitech support is supposed to be pretty good with replacing hardware, even if it's out of warranty.
