    Man, I hadn't played this in a while. A friend and I have taken to playing Frontline games against eachother every other day or so recently. Basically, he's better at attcking than I am, but I'm better at defending than he is, so we usually play to our strengths. Our games usually last a pretty long time, with his advances progressing slowly but surely to my rear lines.

    We've seen some pretty epic moments the last few days; massive tank pushes stopped by a few well placed mines or guns, waves of infantry torn apart by exploding ordnance trucks, handfulls of riflemen and flamethrowers taking down behemoth tanks in ambushes, etc. By far my favorite tactics involve mines (either at natural chokepoints, or on the edges of kill zones my fixed guns make), because they always force him to call in sapper support, which gives me time to get reinforcements to the front.

    Also, using tanks like mounted cavalry by having your foot soldiers ride them into battle is awesome until the tanks ammo/fuel explodes.

    I've always loved this game, and the MP is a blast, even if I'm pretty awful at it. I've never understood why I can't find anyone else that plays it though, this thread never stays afloat. D:

    Well, I really like playing the British, especially on payback so the appearance of big tanks is delayed.

    However their infantry may be lackluster or I'm missing something.

    British Infantry is slightly bad; the Sten's not a great SMG and the Enfield isn't a wonderful rifle (although it's not horrid). Their Assault Infantry get Tommy Guns so that's fun and the Commandos aren't so bad either.

    I'm playing this multiplayer for the first time and wow this game is amazing. I had a 4v4 just last night where everyone used very effective tactics and communicated with each other and it's such a whole new, different experience from any other game I've played.

    I have a custom playlist when I play this game, consisting of music from Valkyria Chronicles, most of the Medal of Honor soundtracks, Hearts of Iron, Band of Brothers, The Pacific, and Company of Heroes. Makes the games much more epic to compensate for the really bad voice acting.

    We tried in the past to do some PA multiplayer. It didn't really come off.

    I can't believe how much better the game has become since Faces of War. The AI in that one drove me nuts. This one seems to be far better.

    I only play singleplayer, but am nevertheless enjoying myself.

    Wow the King Tiger is a beast

    I wish there was an easy command to tell the fool to get out of the machine gun and back into the tank though.

    Yes, it is a beast. But a lowly bazooka man can fell its mighty form.

    The thing to take away here is escort your tanks.

    My friend learned today exactly why you don't send tanks after infantry in a city. Even if my ambushing infantry can't kill you with their AT grenades, the Tiger will be too distracted to see that T-34 getting ready to broadside it.

    That was just a bloody fight in general tho. City fights usually are and this one was a night-time map. I think more men died in collapsing buildings than to enemy gunshots; at least mine did.

    EDIT: More people need to talk about this awesome game. I hate seing this thread die after ever 5 posts.

    Today I learned not to get my flamethrower guy too close to the buildings he roasts, that napalm rebounds! D:

    Also, that guys come with way too much equipment. I hate having mans die when they're still carrying 7 grenades of assorted types.

    Well now I've watched them all, so there.

    And even applied a bit of what I learned!

    Drive a jeep around behind their lines, shoot the crew out of a field gun, and tow it away to waiting tank crews! Kinda reminds me of HW1.

    So, I played my first multiplayer games today. Yeah, I'm definately a noob. Should I play through the campaign before I try playing multiplayer again? Is there anyone who would like to help me learn how to play decently? It would be great if we could organize some chill PA matches. I'd totally be down.

    Single player isn't very good for learning multiplayer tactics or strategy or anything, but it's very helpful for learning how to control units efficiently, manage inventories, scavenge items, etc. I'll friend you on Steam and maybe we can play together.

    Since this is only $3 I bought my roommate a copy for his birthday, we've been having a lot of fun working through the campaigns co-op, and occasionally screwing around against each other.

    The deciding factor in one battle, where his hail mary field gun shots were keeping me from being able to effectively deploy any vehicles. (3/4 of the way across the map, through two smoke grenades, a building, a brick wall and destroys my new AT gun? :() was an officer deployed in the stupidest of spots. I really don't know he he was never spotted. But he wasn't, and allowed for some devastating long range rifle and mortar fire.

    Is it just me or are the skirmish maps stupidly hard? Me and three guys spent 40 minutes capping the first nine points on the German mission, but then spent around an hour trying to get the last point before we just gave up. And we were playing on normal difficulty!
