Left Handed Gamers, halp plox

I hate being more creative and mathematically inclined then my right handed fellows.

That being said, I need some quality joystick to enjoy Freespace 2 and other space/flight sims in my newfound addiction. I'm torn between the Saitek X52 platform and the Evo Force. Cheap sticks kill it for me, so I need quality. If I'm going with a molded system that requires me to learn to fly with my right hand, I'm just going to say fuckmints and go balls deep with a throttle controller as well.

So anyways, the plea for help. Have any other left handed gamers had any success in adopting the right handed controls? I used to use a Sidewinder force feedback stick in my youth and managed OK. I'm also wondering if I'm woefully off-base with going after the Evo Pro, since because apparently nobody sells it in Canada except over the internets with HI, I'M MR RAPIST as their shipping agent.. the cost of an Evo is going to be ~100 bucks vs. 130 for the X52 setup.

Plus, the X52 is silver and has neon-blue LED lighting and looks like the product of a laser having sex with a cyborg.

On my desk.

Halp!

Unfortunately, all fighter jets are pretty much right-handed. I've never seen any manufacturer even offer a mirror setup. I suspect that despite there being more than a few southpaws, the market for such is almost non-existent.

Closest I can think of, back in the old days, Logitech used to offer left-handed mice (they don't anymore AFAIK).

I used to have a full Thrustmaster HOTAS setup, and I just did my best to (awkwardly), fly as a righty. Saitek seems to have a nice joy+throttle setup, but I've never used one. Thrustmaster's still around, but I understand their quality (which even way back when was questionable at times), has really tanked. Last I looked, the heavy TM users were investing heavy in aftermarket mods to fix flaws in durability and accuracy. CH Products is still around too. Truth be told, I suspect all of them have one issue or another with quality.

Here in the US, at least Best Buy carries the Saitek stick. I haven't seen any other brands of joy+throttle in the stores.

The Cyborg Evo is adjustable for left or right handedness, and you can buy the other part separately.

I always felt that lefties have it tougher then the darkies in gaming.

Well, I felt that way until I played RE5. Then I realized being ignored is better then being openly mocked. OOGA OOGA WERE BLACK AND THROW SPEARS. All that game was missing was a zombie lineup at KFC.

Anyways good to hear that it's manageable, my options here in canuck land are pretty much:

    a) Saitek X52 Joystick/Throttle combo $130, instant gratification

    b) Saitek Evo Force $80 + $15 shipping + ebay hassle + wait time + fuck ebay

    c) Saitek Evo $65 + $20 shipping + ebay hassle + wait time + fuck ebay

Fuck ebay in the ass. With a baseball bat. With razor wire wrapped around it. It took me months to get PayPal to remove my credit card from my account. What bullshit.

I guess there's the option of a Saitek Cyborg X ($50 + shipping + bullshit), but I've heard thats a piece of dogshit and the throttle is only handy for your left hand... which kind of defeats the purpose of having a n ambidextrous joystick.

Anyone in Ottawa or Toronto that knows a computer store that stocks Saitek gear?

I'm left-handed but I game just same as all the righties. Even with joysticks (back in the TIE Figher/X-Wing days) I just put up with it and the skills come eventually.
