I have a 5th gen 30 gig that I use mostly in the car connected to the radio through a data from the dock port. It stopped playing music through the dock and through the headphone jack but the screen says that the song is playing like normal... I have tried rebooting it a few times and running down the battery. Any help would be great.

did you get a warranty?
That might be your best option.
Hopefully someone else has heard of this problem being fixed another way but that sounds kind of serious...
Sanity check... the volume's not set to 0, right? And you've tested it with headphones, it's not the aux port / tape adapter / whatever you're using on your radio?

He has problems with both.
Even if the volume was set to zero, the bottom jack should have sound anyway (atleast, mine is like that)
Ya it's not at zero... Both jacks are FUBAR.. Warranty is up by now have had it for a few years.

That really sucks... and, to be clear you didn't get the extended warrenty? (I'm not even sure if it would cover that... but I don't see why it shouldn't)
I guess your options are going to a repair center and seeing how much they would charge or b) selling it to one and using that money towards a new Ipod.
It's really weird that both jacks got busted at the same time... maybe there is just a simple lose connection preventing the info from getting anywhere
