Fields of electronic death

Well apprently Gabe isn't the only who who emits a field of death upon his precious electronic devices.

As I said the other day since I moved to Japan in Janurary I've had my desktop die (but that one really thanks to the retarded movers packing it upside down in it's box). And then my laptop (my backup gaming pc) had its proc and mobo die. Now I find out today that the ECU in my damn skyline is dead and needs to be replaced.

I've had a similar effect myself, but it only seems to apply to computers owned by teachers. I went back to my old high school to help mentor a club, and in one day managed to hook up a cable to a computer in a way that sent electrical feedback that fried a physics teacher's computer.

Managed to severely damage a few computers when I was in high school too.

Also, Run, threads about breaking stuff are fun.

Let it go, Saru. He spills pizza sauce everywhere and thinks a computer died from being upside down. Just let it go.

Actually I know the computer died from being upside down for 2 months while it was shipped over to Japan from florida. The simple fact that when I pulled it out of the box and inspected the inside and pieces of my mobo broken inside of my case

pcs do not stop working when you turn them upside-down

You people might be thinking that they took my tower and just flipped it around. My bad I should have carified what they did was turn my PC on its side so my big ass video card and 2 big after market fans for my 2 FX-74 procs where just pulling down on the board.

And after 2 months AT SEA. Yes it broke the PC there are stress cracks in the MOBO where my componets were just hangin.

That has absolutely nothing to do with it being upside down. Nothing.

Let me make this abundantly clear.

There is no field. You simply make the worst decisions with your electronics that are possible for you to make.

They shipped my computer over here when I moved, but I made sure it was veeery carefully packed and veeeerry carefully marked. And I still fretted over the decision. (It's possible I have too much affection for an inanimate object in this case.) I honestly just did not have a better idea of how to get my tower to South Korea.

camuai, your board broke because the computer was on a boat and it got wave'd to hell. No matter which way you turn your computer, the weight distribution is the same. gravity is always pulling down, and flipping it around doesn't maximize the effect.

yes but the important difference is that you actually took care to prepare it for shipping instead of just throwing it in a box and expecting everything to be ok
