Image search - GIS fail

A wild image appears!

gba.png

It broke free! It ran away!

Except not. This isn't the image I need, not exactly. I'm looking for the black SP version of this image, and both Google web, shopping, and image search have failed me. I know Nintendo had a page dedicated to the GBA back when it was still supported, but all they have now is a link to their customer service page. Does anyone know of a more comprehensive search engine, or maybe a place where I can find old nintendo.com images?

How black do you want it? You could probably darken it even more without making it look fake.

You could maybe hack one together out of this image:
    http://www.gamechoiceclub.com/image/gbasp_black.jpg

This is NOE's GBA SP page, but it's all silver over there:

Thanks for this. Most of the links are dead, but the few that work get me as far as the GBA page. Still no luck though.

So I went ahead and contacted Nintendo about my dilemma and I just got a response. Either I wasn't clear with my intentions, or the person who read my request is dense.

It's automated, basically. You want an image, the only reason you could want an image is to use it, they don't let people use images.

But 'use' in this context is subjective. What if I just wanted to print it out and hang it up on my wall?

They don't have time to read every single email to determine whether or not you're going to use it for something that they want you to use it for or something they don't want you to use it for. This is, in fact, what the email they sent says. It seems like you read their email about as carefully as they read yours.

Under U.S. copyright law, personal use of copyrighted material is still "use", otherwise we wouldn't call pirated movies, music, or games "pirated", we'd just call them "downloaded".

Well.. what DO you need such a specific image for? It might help people here come up with something more to your liking.

I'm trying to update my backlog. I have a set of images I'm currently using, but I want to remove the text from each. This seemed like the easiest course of action.

What makes them stand out as edited is you're changing the color of the game cartridge too. If it remained the standard gray color they wouldn't be as obvious.

Yeah, I wasn't concerned with that I guess. I was just going for a quick fix, but Guar is much more specific than I had originally anticipated. That and I don't use image editing software for things other than cropping much, so that was all I could do without trying to learn a lot more.

    Figgy's got it covered though.

I'm not sure why, to be honest, because if he is planning on printing it out for something it's far too small for that. If he's using it as some sort of website/sig image, I don't really see much of a difference in any of the offered entries.

In any case, hope he finds something suitable here or elsewhere.

Now that we've all tried in vain to satisfy your eccentric desires, you should tell us in detail why you needed it to look exactly like that... which is 90% the same as what we offered.

Like I said, I'm just extremely particular. A little obsessive maybe.

As I said, I'm in the process of updating my backlog. The old images are fine, they just have a string of text in front of them. I decided I wanted to remove that, so the easiest way for me was to just remake the images. Trying to find a good angle so you can decipher what the system is is important, and I didn't feel like repositioning everything all over again.

But don't look at it like a failure. If it were anyone else, you all would have had it in the bag in the first 10 minutes.
