Yeah, I was kind of wondering if Amanda(? Is that her name? We'll go with rat-stick girl, just in case) would've tripped and fallen off the ship, and then the next pat of the game was the Red-haired girl starting a witch-hunt on Jennifer or something close to that.

Man, that must've been terrifying. Pasties falling from the ceiling every where and being all creepy and stuff.

It was pretty unnerving just watching it; can't imagine it as it's being played.

I've never watched a Let's Play before this one before, but I have to say I find watching you play highly enjoyable. Your commentary while playing is very entertaining, and this way I get to experience a game I probably would be too chicken to play myself.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know I'm enjoying this a lot. A shame the combat is so glitchy, but you seem to be dealing with it rather well. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this

I don't think I could play this sort of game. It's very slow and the combat is awful. I guess that's why I never finished Silent Hill all those years ago. I actually don't get frightened by games much in general so that wouldn't be a selling point either. Still, it's entertaining to watch you play at least. Your constant need to find items can draw on a bit long but honestly if it were me, I'd do the same thing. I don't like to miss things.

So your intent is to use that last save to go item find during non-recording time? I approve of that. Watching item finding isn't terribly interesting. How much of it is really required in this game, though? Are you just like OCD about items or does it really make you find all these things to finish the game? If the latter, I'd probably push this into bad game territory.

The combat being the worst of it. Then the fact that absolutely no characters are likable, including Jennifer. I'd almost like the red-haired girl if she wasn't so creepy. She's at least pretty and strong-minded (in a sense...)

I'm still interested in the story simply because of how weird and mysterious it is, but the more I see of the gameplay the more I wish it were a movie or something instead.

Anyhow, these are all criticisms of the game and not you. You're doing great so keep it up. As for the book choice uh, I guess the Goat Sisters since you seem to have an idea of what it means. Do they change the outcome of the game or just the order you do things in? You were a little vague on that part.

It changes my item searching abilities and what I'm limited to doing in getting extra stuff like costumes, records, and films, which I'm going to try and get in this run through instead of replaying through the game multiple times.

The itemfinding sounds terribly addictive, I tend to get a bit OCD over finding and missing items, so I'd probably spend hours just searching around.

I can't help but feel sorry for Jennifer. She seems so utterly helpless, and unable to stand up for herself (outside of combat). You sometimes sound almost protective over her.

As for a vote on the book: I vote for the Goat sisters you seemed to prefer that one so roll with it, I say.

Well you've completely shocked my expectations from this game! I've only just start watching it now and love the soundtrack (well I'm a musician so pretty much soundtrack comes first for any game!) I am going to research and learn the piano piece in part one I really enjoyed them. I hope I've haven't missed too much cause I was trying as much as possible to finish watching Kagero Deception 2! Kudos for you and thanks for LPing this game that I've never heard of. Cheers

This game is pretty messed up so far, i guess it's "controversial" because there are sadistic & delusional children running amok, although there's plenty of time for us to sink even deeper into lord-of-the-flies depravity. It's a very interesting game I'll say that much.

Well, now I'm working on finishing it thanks to this thread.

I'm at the 'Rag Princess' chapter, and somewhat lost.

The kid stole the lever from the generator.

Nothing thus far has seemed that controversial. Disturbing, but that's about it. Silent Hill has far worse stuff than this.

I think that Rule of Rose would work better if Jennifer was a child herself, that way when she was utterly powerless before the sadistic little monsters I'd genuinely feel frightened and sympathetic for her plight, not to mention that it'd feel a lot more harrowing when its a child constantly in danger.

But because she's in at least her 20s and seems incapable of even attempting to show some back bone and try to stand up for herself, my feelings towards Jennifer are generally those of contempt, rather than feeling scared for her i just feel scorn and schadenfreuden when little kids walk all over her.

She has a variety of bladed weapons and a steel pipe. One whack from that and any of those brats would be in the hospital.

The animals in silent hill were very much alive from what i remember o_O

The children in this game make me never want to compare it to Silent Hill, but she does pass out and wake up in different places a whole lot, and she does have a steel pipe, and her aristocrats club friends are all psychopaths.
