I just got a new phone and I'm looking for some new stuff to answer calls/texts to.
I've got software to cut snippets out of songs, so that's a possibility. What I'd like though is something clever, like internet memes (keyboard cat?) or lyrics that can be taken out of context. Gimmicks and novelties are very welcome.
Examples of stuff I've come up with so far: "Mail mothafucka!" from eurotrip
Not to be a funhater, but that ringtone you think is super clever the first 5 or 6 times it goes off gets old in a big hurry. Plus nobody over the age of 17 wants to hear your phone tell you that you have "Mail, mothafucka".
I guess it depends on your situation. If you work at a place where business casual or dressier is the norm, don't go overboard.
I personally use the "ringtone" Jack Black makes verbally at the beginning of the Friendship Test track on the Tenacious D album. Classy and clever without being annoying. Plus its fun to see who recognizes it when it goes off.
For incoming texts, I've always been a fan of this, from Monty Python. If you text a lot, though, anything that's not a true 'tone' of some kind will get way old way fast.

EDIT: I wish Apple would pull their finger out and allow custom sounds for text messages without having to mess around in the file system. In the past i've had plenty of sounds like "Ice cream!" for my text messages. (Speedball 2 fans will know that reference)
