Just a fast question here, is there a good cheap way to run the AV from my laptop to the tv?

if your tv has dvi that is.

this adapter would also probably work with another adapter to convert the dvi signal to HDMI or VGA if need be.

Many laptops have s-video out (or better quality options with an adapter). S-video cable + 1/8" stereo to RCA = less than $5 on monoprice.
