I haven't had a set of desktop speakers for quite a while, as I have been happy with my headphones. Lately I have had instances where I would like to play music or hear my games without wearing said headphones. Any suggestions for a decent set of 2.1's or even a set without a sub (if they sound good)? Of course I don't want to spend alot since they won't be my primary output. I was thinking something in the $100-150 range or less. Thanks for any advice.

I had the Z-2300. Worked and sounded awesome for it's size and price. Definitely worth getting. I only sold mine because I moved overseas. It was still in perfect condition sound-wise after 4 years.
I'm going to go against the grain here. If you want good sound and don't care about surround - do not buy multimedia speakers - especially not THX-certified ones like these. THX has nothing to do with sound quality, only mixing integrity - and can actually make the sound quality worse for music. For example, with the enforced 80Hz crossover on. The minicube + "sub"woofer design is a dead end purgatory of sound quality. I'm also leery of how few specs they actually publish for these logitech speakers. No SPL/efficiency rating, no THD rating, no linearity ratings, nothing except the whole bunch of buzzwords and the penis-waving yet completely, utterly meaningless pair of specs that are THX + watts
While I agree, Rigor, that logitech's stuff isn't audiophile-level quality, the reason I picked the "minicube + "sub"woofer design" was not for sound alone but also because it fit my space requirements. It's the same reason I don't wear my huge monitor headphones when I go out. I wear earphones which don't have nearly the sound range and quality, but are far more convenient. So I guess it depends where/how the OP wants to use them.
