I need to know what I can do about my shoe situation.
What happens is I buy new shoes and because my feet are wider than most the sides of my feet overlap onto the sides and bend them. So much so that I begin "chewing" through the sides of the shoe where it leaves holes.
What is a mostly cheap way to save my shoes (and wallet).
Instead of say, 10 and a half, get 10 and a half W?

New Balance is pretty much awesome for monsters with wide-ass troll feet.
Yes.
They're pretty much the only tennis shoes I can wear, and unless your foot is unimaginably wide (at which point you need to start looking at custom shoes), they'll have something for you.
I wear a 14EEEEEE, for example, and they actually sell one of those (I got mine at a wide shoe store).
If you happen to live in the Seattle area, Shoreline Wide Shoes can hook you up.

Yeah, NewBalance shoes are great. Though, sometimes I have to get shoes one size larger because the store doesn't carry wides in my size. Usually they're fine as well.

NewBalance are nice, also Vans and Zoo York make some pretty wide shoes.
Has anyone found a good internet store or chain store that carries a lot of wide sizes? My last few trips to discount shoe warehouse have turned up with nothing suitable in 13W.
I'm a girl, so I don't know too much about men's shoes. But I do buy the men's Van's just in a small size. I have sort of wide feet, and really high arches and Van's are really comfortable for me I've been wearing them for years for my sneekers.

At least for running shoes, it seems like Zappos.com always has a lot of wide sizes for shoes that come in wide sizes.

It should be noted that their web presence is pretty damn solid too. I've ordered shoes from them for years without any problems. Obviously for finding fit you can't go web but once you've found what you can wear it works well. They also tend to note which of their shoes runs wide or narrow for their nominal size.

I find Sketchers also work pretty well for my wide feet (as long as I buy the W version).
