Here is my UI (finally to a point where I want to post it). I thumbnailed it to not do a nasty HScroll.

hmm ok, so i decided to try photek.

upon loading it for the first time i was met with a horrible mishmash of crap, ok no problem, but on the left side of my screen was my minimap stretched from the top to the bottom of the screen. the chat areas are sitting off center to the right.

is photek only usable in 1600 res or is this just some crazy fuck up.

edit: nevermind, i think i may have been stupid and downloaded the widescreen version.

    nope, not widescreen.

I'm honestly not sure... I think it's just really finicky about where you click on it to move it. I think I'm probably just gonna disable it.

There's a lot of options needing configuration, it's a very flexible package though.

Oh, I know what a HUD is - I whiled away many an hour of my youth on old PC space sims.

Arc or Meta it is. Thanks.

There's also IceHUD, which is what I use. It's another ACE2 addon.
IceHUD's the best of 'em, I think. I don't use a HUD anymore, but I tried out Arc, Ice, and Meta, and Ice was my favorite.

Why? Well, it's simple to configure, but very flexible all the same. Arc felt a bit too nailed down for me; couldn't change it much at all from the way it came.

None of 'em are bad, in my opinion, I just think IceHUD's the best.
I used meta hud first. Then I switched to IceHud because of the ace2 addon thing.

It may have been because I used metahud first and got used to it, but I thought IceHUD sucked and barely had anything compared to metahud.

So this is how I roll at the moment:

    WoWScrnShot_031507_131434.jpg

The buffs show in a Vertical bar in the top right (CT_Buffmod). Also running is:

    Bongos
    CT_Raid
    X-perl
Sabella (un-finished, like a Rogue Necrosis, will be nice when its done)
    Poisoner
    Sapper
    CT_mod
    Riccos Minimap
    FuBar

Its pretty much where I want it, Riccos is a bit glitchy, the map seems to go off centre when I log off and on but this might be a conflict somehwere. Thats target of target in the middle, Oh and the Autoattack button is a placeholder for Shiv before the poking of fun begins ;)

So many people have either HUGE buttons or buttons that are all spaces out.

Mine are somewhat spaced out since I do click on some so I don't want to miss click a large cooldown ability or better yet I don't want to hit DI at the wrong time.

Shit we had a Paladin DI our MT during MC a few to many times. This guy also jumped in mid air above the bridge in IF to DI people and leave his corpse there while he played an alt.

I like slightly larger buttons, because sometimes I have to use the mouse to click them. 90% of the time I use hotkeys. But because someone generally dies when I screw up, I need that 10% when I click to be in the right spot.

Buttons being too small just increase the odds of messing up.

Eh I can see that. I usually click things on the right side of my bar of buttons and use hotkey for the left. I guess I just never had problems clicking on the smaller buttons. Though I do like having a very large stealth button on my rogue cause I think it looks cool. :P

    Hehehe that's kinda cute.

Mostly because I move my cooldown abilities away from regularly clicked buttons and apart from eachother to prevent mistakes. But my cooldowns (rogue/priest) really aren't that long so I don't freak out if I hit one. I get more pissed when I accidentally click on a super mana pot. /cry

Totem buffs still apply to enchanted weapons, you just don't get the spinning wind/fire thingy.

It's poisons that override the weapon totems.

MY current UI. I changed some things up to be more like everyone else. But I tried the whole everything on the bottom setup and it just doesnt work for me. At least, not on 1400 x 900 rez.

    Anyway First is basic

    DIui.jpg

And this is when I hit shift. Putting stuff like buffs there.

    diui2.jpg

Doesn't show the combat log thingy in the lower right. Its called eavesdrop and it only shows the raw numbers without text. Stuff I do on the right, stuff done to me on the left, and icons for skills/spells. Combat info like going into/dropping combat and deaths are in the middle.

I usually never customized that heavilly. But I kinda like this so far. I havent done it on my warrior on Sarg yet, I wanna see how it flies for now. It will be a bit harder to set up for that class but I think I could make it work. Having trinkets as popupable clickable icons would prolly help ALOT.

I started my Pally before I started my BE mage, so thankfully I delayed the OMG factor of how awesome the BE starting area was a bit. If I started with a Blood Elf first I probably wouldn't have been able to get my pally to level 10.

Really though my favorite thing about the BE areas is the music. I can't get enough of the cello, and theme in general.

I have a question regarding the agUF Casting Bar...where the hell is it?

I have the full agUF and aUF Layouts installed and working just fine, but nowhere under any part of the menu do I see an option for a casting bar. Is it a seperate download?

    Unit Frames -> Player <or anyone I believe> -> Enable cast bar

Just in case your not aware it shows up as part of the unit frame and if you keep them in the top left might not be that useful.

I've looked through every option in the menu and again, nothing about a casting bar at all, I go to the Unit Frames > Player menu, but all I get are things about my portrait, hiding my mana bar or extending my status bars and such. Does it only show up for certain layouts of the frames?

Currently I'm using the ABF layout.
