Currently I'm using the ABF layout.

Are you using the latest version of ag_UF? The castbar works with all layouts, I believe. It definitely works with ABF.

Some layouts don't have a displayable castbar (ex. Nyrine), but yeah... the options should be in there somewhere.

Latest UI. I've dropped about 40MB of UI memory by switching away from Nurfed. Tivoli was supposed to provide an update that would clean up a lot of code (and fix some things that were annoying to deal with), but he's gotten busy or something. So ag_UF & Bartender it is. As always, click for the full version.

Yes, I know I have groups 2 and 3 reversed, the numbers look alike OK?

Sure be nice to play a game where enjoying a basic level of functionality didn't require covering 50% of the screen with bars and text.

It doesn't. All you need are hotkeys, a health bar and a mana bar. Everything else is just bells and whistles to make the gameplay better.

Anyways, what's a good addon to use to tell what the memory useage is for each addon? Or at least a total memory used.

Very similar to my Warrior's laying. Few new things. Out of Combat

    In Combat

Also a number of undisplayed addons that do random things. AH Reset, Cartographer, numberous wowace addons.

Edit: Err, ignore that deep wounds macro. That's temporary.

Sup. It seems that I suck at UI'ing. I'm constantly amazed at screenshots where people have like ... 8 things on their bars, especially raiding healers. In my screenshot, combat log goes in the bottom right blank area. The little red anchor is for Pally Power. Raid frames take up a column on the left side when necessary, party frame goes across from my own to the right.

Help me out guys, what can I do different? I'd like to reduce my screen clutter and make it prettier.

(Resized from 1920x1080, I can't get it to resize while leaving the text/icons identifiable)

    - Your minimap is in a weird place. Think about moving it to a corner - bottom right or top right?
    - Honestly I think round buttons clutter up a screen more than square ones, but that's just me.
    - Make your buttons as small as you can stand.
    - Try moving around your bar of auras, maybe. Figure out which buttons you rarely use and move them to the side bar.
    - I think buff bars take up more space than they're worth, personally, and I prefer icons with a time left underneath them (I just use the blizz default). If you like those bars, move them into a corner or at least slide them all the way to the right against the edge of the screen.

I never get why people like sidebars. It's so far away to push. I guess it's good if you use it to see how much of an itme you have left or something and never intend to push them...

Anyways here's my suggestions. *shrugs* Not even close to pretty but might give ideas of what you can do:

Ok. I've been playing for a while after a year break. I have a lvl 31 shaman and have several addons installed. But I dont see how some of you guys have so few buttons on the screen. Right now Im using Bongos. I have maybe a total of 4 bars on the bottom, 2 on top of each other, side by side.

So how do you guys whose screens show so few buttons get by? Is most of your stuff hiddent until combat, or do you hit 1 button and that calls up the rest of your bars?

How do the screenshots with the entire bottom of the screen sectioned off work?

Well, a lot of people, like the rogue in the screenshot, don't hotkey everything they have, since it's unnecessary. On top of that, they hide buttons that aren't available in the active stance (i.e. stealth which is like half a rogue's shit).

I found on my shaman alt that totems took up a TON of button space. Try paging them to one bar, so you can switch pages for instancing and soloing, and only put on the totems you really use all the time (i.e. you can probably leave off most resistance totems).

Move your titan/flex thingy to the bottom and bump your player frame to the top left corner. Get rid of the circle thingy unless you really need it (some of those buttons are duplicated on your bars anyway). Scale down your buttons.

    1) Mods like Bindpad and Spellbinder (hell, even the built-in macro interface) let you bind abilities without putting them on a hotkey.

So, for my hunter, my most frequently-used shots are on 1-5, but I've got abilities like a pet attack/pet passive toggle, Hunter's Mark, Intimidate, and other commonly-used abilities on buttons 4 & 5 on my mouse (using shift/alt/control where necessary). I keep Freezing Trap and Frost Trap on x and shift-x respectively, with my more offensive traps going on the bar to click (I don't use them all that often).

    2) Bartender lets you use button-press toggles of various bars. So while it looks like I've only got a couple hotbars visible, I hite shift, and I've got two more. My primary attacks are 1-5. My stings are on shift-1 to shift-5, and my melee abilities are on alt-1 to alt-5.

    3) Another nice Bartender feature is the ability to hide bars until you mouse over them; I keep my pet bar hidden, because the only time I really use it is when I group and need to disable Growl, or to set my pet on defensive mode if I have to go AFK in the middle of a dangerous place.

    4) Scaling (again, Bartender) helps you get lesser-used abilities out of the way. I've got a total of 16 tracking and aspect abilities, so I've got two really small (like 55% scale) 8-button bars on the sides of my minimap sans hotkeys. There's never a time where "ZOMG I NEED TO TRACK DEMONS RIGHT THIS SECOND!11" so I just click it. Aspects? Yeah, sometimes that's the case, but I've got Cheetah/Monkey/Hawk all bound on v.

    5) Just think about priorities. Stuff that you use all the time, put on your primary bar; slots 1-5 are all you can really hit conveniently. Stuff you don't use all the time, but when you do use has to be now, that's a good candidate for some key you can hit without your hands leaving your mouse or WASD. The rest of it? Well, if it's a piece of crap like Curse of Weakness, it isn't even worthy of a hotkey or a slot on your bar. Get rid of it. If it's some oddball ability you don't use often, or something that's just really not all that time-sensitive, put it out of the way and click it when necessary.

    6) Of course, smart raid healers use Clique, too, so that can really help cut down on buttons.

EDIT: For reference, a shot of my UI (several levels ago, but the basic layout hasn't changed):

My bars are a bit of a mess still since I've basicly been too lazy to get them sorted and cleaned up. I use Clique for almost all of my healing so I can remove a lot of the buttons I currently have on my bars.

When I used to play a priest I would have almost no button on my screen at all.

Could be, although I didn't report it myself.

I have no good excuse for the name, I was impatient to play some the night Xpac came out and every name I could think of was taken. Even the randomly generated names are mostly all used now. :x
