I'm just after starting a lock, and I want things to be even easier then they already are. Is it possible to make a macro that will allow me to cast my three dots(Immolate, then the instant ones) in one click?
Not in one click. But you can use a cast sequence so that clicking one button three times will cast a different spell each time.
edit: something like this
/petattack
/castsequence reset=combat/target Immolate, Corruption, Curse of Agony
That button will tell your pet to attack and cast Immolate. Next press it will cast Corruption, next it will cast CoA, then it starts over again. If you change target or drop combat, it'll start from Immolate again.
You can do multiple actions with one click, but only if one or both of them are not on the global cooldown. My warrior has a macro that will use both shield block and revenge with one click (in addition to my suicidal dismount+charge macro from a few pages back), and my paladin macros judgement to almost all my seal casts. But no, you can't just push one button and have the computer play your character for you while you grab a beer.
Yeah, and as for calling multiple actions with all but one (the last desired action) off the GCD, you can just do the slash commands in order, as far as I know. The canonical example of this would be the 'Trinket mage'. I don't remember the exact commands (haven't played my mage in ages), but I think it would go something like this nowadays:
/s I'm a trinket mage!
/use 13 (13 is the first trinket slot, I think)
/cast Presence of Mind
/cast Pyroblast
Since say, trinkets, and PoM are all off the global cooldown, you can call them all in a row in a single click. Since all the preceding commands are off the global cooldown, the last Pyroblast works, too. You can think of this in the sense that macros can't wait. A macro will only execute its commands in a single click if it can do them all immediately in a row. Obviously if a GCD triggers in the middle, this can't happen.

I have amde a few macros that will drop me out of shadowform and cast healing spells on myself with two clicks.
I know I can't do it in less, but can I make it so after the first click I don't get a "you are in shadowform" error message?

wow. just spent about an hour setting up focus and mouseover macros and unit frames.
shift+1-6,r,t,y -> drops shadow form if it's on and I can't cast the spell in it, then casts the spell on my friendly mouseover. if no mouseover, then on my friendly target. if no friendly target, then on myself. (the last two parts are done by default)
alt+v-> sets unit as my focus
alt+1-6,r,t,y -> drops shadow form if it's on and casts the spell on my focused target.
so simple, but it makes me so happy. this should make healing faster and also more fun. going to have to try it out to decide what information I want on all these frames though. trying to keep the space down.
... if any of this is incoherent, apologies. didn't sleep much and just spent the last hour learning some amcro stuff and fuddling with UI details. burnt out!
So, I added Pitbull and Grid last night from the ace updater, and suddenly I was crashing/locking up during raids again, something that was supposed to be fixed in the last patch. I turn off all unitframes and ran Kara with the ugly stupid default frames and raid pull out windows.
Anyone else having problems? Did I get version of Pitbull and Grid with different versions of the libraries or something? Annoying.
EDIT: It may have been Threat-1.0 causing problems. Apparently a short-lived version on the updater was causing lockups.
A HuD that will allow me to track the remaining duration of buffs I select (specifically battle shout and rampage) near my character, rather than up in a corner in the middle of 10 other buffs.
elkbuffbars (not elkbuffbar) for the buffs. You can create multiple groups then whitelist certain buffs in one group so it only shows those buffs. You could also do the same for debuff groups if you want to monitor specific debuffs/buffs on your target or focus.
I need an addon that will announce to the raid when my Righteous Defense gets resisted. I found a couple but they are only for warriors/druids or they don't actually announce.

You could probably modify the warrior/druid ones to work with Righteous Defense.
You could also consider adding a module to BigWigs if you're really hurting for one. Take a look at BigWigs_Extras\Tranq.lua for a relatively simple bit of code to see how you might accomplish such a task.

I'd like an addon that tells me in some way when someone in my raid or party is casting a heal on me. I keep running away from bosses to bandage only to get hit for like 4k with some big heal.
The most ideal thing I think would be some sort of movable bar that shows either all heals being cast by my raid and their targets or one that shows just heals incoming on me. Anything like this out there?

Well there's Grid and it has a highlight feature for incoming heals. I have mine set up to highlight the person's box with a lime outline. However, it doesn't track what heal or AoE heals.
However, a stand alone mod like you describe doesn't ring a bell. I recall there being one that worked off CT-Raid back in the 40man raids to track who healed whom but nothing as dynamic as you state. I'm the main healer for the raid and I cancel about half my heals because I see other people dropping a heal on my target. So there's the cancellation of a heal that you have to consider as well.
I guess I should just get Grid and set it up to do what I want it to. It seems like it does a whole lot more that really doesn't help me much as a Rogue, but oh well.

Well that's what makes it so incredible. You can turn off 90% of the options and just see some simple health frames. But the functionality is there if you ever want something more.

It was before the expansion, but if you get everyone in the raid to use Forecast you can see what people are casting on others, and exactly when it will go off. Was nice to have.

Create a group, choose what it's monitoring (Player, target, target's target, and one more option I believe). Under filter there's a whitelist option. Choose the buff/debuff from there. The skills are "learned" based on what you've used. If you're a rogue, find an enemy and use Cheap Shot on it and you can filter Cheap Shot from then on. Get buffed with Fortitude and you can filter that, too.
It's pretty simple.

Can anyone help me find an action-bar mod that adds bars on top of the BlizzardActionBars bottomleft and bottomright buttons? Something like Telo's Bottombar they used to have, but I can't find anything that does this. I'm not looking for Bartender3 or anything, just something to add a few more buttons to the default UI.
heh, that was from a month and a half ago but I was browsing through the thread today, and I picked up 2 mods that deserve repeating in case anyone else missed them as I did.

the first just shortens up the info in your chat log which actually makes it readable as it scrolls by quickly, and rating buster basically takes the info on any given item and spits it at you in a streamlined fashion... so no more need to equip the item to see if #x mp5 is going to give you a better boost than #y spirit. it will tell you. very cool.

There's a heap of handy macros like that here.

/cancelform [stance:1]
/cast [nostance] spell name
edit - still does the same thing. it does de-cast shadow form, but I also get an error.
can I use a command to stop the macro until I click again? /stopmacro, or /stopcasting?
edit2 - oh, stupid... I have 2 cast commands in the macro and I only put [nostance] in front of one.
Anyone else having problems? Did I get version of Pitbull and Grid with different versions of the libraries or something? Annoying.

Maybe reverse the order of the macro?
/cast [nostance] spell name
/cancelform [stance:1]
edit:
Maybe make it single line. I think you can cancel Shadow Form by casting it again.

Can someone point me at something to do this?
2) Your buffs? Chronometer
Seriously, I feel bad that I can do little to give back.
Unless you live in my area, then see me for handjobs.
anyone know of anything like this?
If I need more than 255 characters (only happened once so far) I write a mod and macro the hook for it. :P
edit - found it, supermacro. allows for unlimited macros.

It's not 100% accurate though, I think if the caster is very close to max range it may not trigger the notification.

New UI, once again. Maybe I'll stick with this for a while. I like it.
Bartender3, Pitbull, simpleMinimap, FuBar, cyCircled. All the usual stuff.

Global Hotkeys.
I had another media player that had global hotkeys but ate a shit load of resources. I stuck with my old non-updated Winamp from like 4 years ago.
Fuck that. foobar2000, global hotkeys.
You can't just click the button while you have the keybindings interface open?
edit: that's what works for my mx518
They should be bindable like normal in the Key Bindings thing after that.
don't fucking jimmy me, jules.
