Repeat for new page: DO NOT KICK BR SPIES FOR DECLOAKING QUICKLY. You may as well kick a Huntsman Sniper for pinning you to the wall.

Repeat in case you may have missed it.

Unless they have changed their minds in the past few hours, both Job and JonXP were leaning toward the exploit side of things. So it's probably best to just not use it that manner, at least until things have been discussed more.

Also, yay for the video Delish!

What the shit is the problem? If they left the DR on they would still have 90% damage reduction. The only difference is that the spy is now visible and, if they don't have the timing of Jesus, have one second of full vulnerability. Is it an exploit for spies to be visible and vulnerable now?

However, they can cloak while taunting. This one is actually a DR exploit: you can taunt with it "activated" and the first time you get hit you'll cloak without stopping the taunt and with 1250 effective health making it rather unlikely you'll die before it's finished.

Do you know what the exploit is? Are you aware of what they can do with it?

Yes, because I'm the one you're bitching about.

    I'm considering using the Sniper.

    I use steam; cj_iwakura.

    Demoman, Spy, Sniper, Scout.

    Even I can play those.

    Also, Pyro/Medic if they're needed.

I suggest after getting banned from the Penny Arcade Servers that you do not do anything to get banned from the Penny Arcade Forums.

Valve did not intend for you to get PERMANENT INVISIBILITY+INVULNERABILTY+THE ABILITY TO INSTANTLY KILL EVERYTHING.

I'm not sure I'd call it an exploit though. I would just rate it "imbalanced."

Either you do chase the spy around, and spend a millennium trying to kill him, or you try to ignore him and he puts a knife in your back.

While it's not the RIDICULOUSLY OP and UNSTOPPABLE as people seem to claim, I do expect Valve will be fixing it.

Thankfully, not mine. I've been catching up on the SA forums now too, which is where I found that poor guy's loadout.

Something else I learned, from a guy that typically min-maxes and playtests the shit out of every damn thing in TF2. Various quotes:
Backstabbed with the Dead Ringer at 125 HP, I took ~30 damage. Backstabbed at 36HP, I took 7 damage. Backstabbed at 29 HP, I took 7 damage.

Normally, backstabbing a Spy at 125HP would do 750 damage
8 stickies detonating at once will do ~90 damage to a 125HP spy
If you get telefragged with the Dead Ringer out, from 125 HP, you have 11 HP left, and you're stuck in each other.

This cracks me up for some reason

At least one involves sending a system in through the mail and getting it back a month later, while the other just requires a few minutes and refreshing here and there.

So, I used to be a scripting addict back in TFC, and I'm getting back into it now. It's hard to believe how much a simple script can totally change your gameplay for the better. Take this for example:

    alias +spyattack "+attack"
    alias -spyattack "-attack; lastdisguise"
    bind mouse1 +spyattack

This works so well with my spy playstyle it's not even funny. Though, it's a bit predictable unless you manually switch the disguise. I think I'm going to write a more advanced one soon that will randomly choose what you disguise as after you attack, but there's no genuine random function in scripting that I'm aware of. Maybe I could base it on the last direction you moved? Something like

    bind w "+forward; disgspy"
    bind a "+moveleft; disgmedic"

and etc, where "disgspy" is an alias that rebinds left click to attack and redisguise me as an enemy spy no matter what I was before.

edit: Ooh, another idea. I could have jump or cloak change what disguises are assigned to the directional buttons, to make it even more random.
