I return home to find that my computer is insisting that it has no soundcard. However, Skype is working - It plays sounds to me and the appel sound test works.
There is no speaker in my system tray, and my computer insists it has no audio device under "sounds and audio devices" in the control panel. The soundmax card is listed as working under device manager, and if I disable it there then skype ceases to work.
Just... WAT.
